request the 100%schedule Rating From combined IU Rating?
Calling All Hands on Deck, Anyone know what the VA Form # is to request the 100% scheduler rating be given & the IU to be moot? As I understand when a veteran is rated for combined IU/with P&T and no future exams schedule and his S.C. Disability is of nature not expected to improve in his life time. The Criteria is,a when veteran has a combined scheduler IU Rating & the veteran has another separate rating of 70% or higher he can request the 100% scheduler rating....the R.O, is supposed to do this at the time of the separate rating but the fail to do this and the Veteran don't know he can request the IU to be MOOT and given a 100% schedule rat…

7-Day Decision on a 30-year-old Matter: Entering The Guessing Period
I just found out the VA made a decision on a supplemental claim I filed only a week ago concerning a now 30-year-old claim. The matter involves an earlier effective date for TDIU to match the recent grant of an earlier effective date for service connection for GAD. They denied the EED for TDIU based primarily on the now-defunct date of service connection for GAD in 2017 so I sent them that decision along with evidence supporting my inability to earn a decent living for almost thirty years. I averaged over that time, $6000 dollars a year. How much consideration went into records that support a retroactive rating the same as my current of 70% I don't know but most of t…

Denied Tdui And/or 100 % And I Am Almost Crippled!
I got hurt while serving during the Gulf War. They performed reconstructive surgery on both of my Feet(screwed them Together) This has caused me allot of pain and an abnormal gait for all these years. Now I have misalignement and degenerative arthritis in both hips which also catch and pop out every so often. Unwarranted TIDU Denial Letter Received
Good Afternoon fellow Vets and a Blessed Memorial Day weekend to all. I am a new member and this is the first site I have came upon in order for me to vent. I will jump right into it. I am a combat vet (Iraq) rated at 70% PTSD. I filed for an increased rating and TDIU back in November of 2018 as the symptoms I experience regarding my PTSD were worsening and keeps me from maintaining employment. I left my last place of employment in June of 2016 due to anxiety and constant panic attacks. After a C&P exam for the rating increase in December I was approved for the increase this March of 2019. A second exam for a medical opinion regarding TDIU because of my PTSD was sched…

IU after Retirement
I was talking about this in another thread but as @Buck52 said I don't want to hijack someone else thread. I will be retiring from the federal government around the end of October, I will be receiving a retirement check from them, I am also retired from the Air Force. My quest is can I get IU even though I am retired? Once I retire I will also go to the VA Voc ReHab. I am also hoping (like everyone else on this site) to get to 100% P&T I almost there now. If I do get 100% P&T is there any need to pursue IU?

FDC 4 TDIU is C&P exam necessary
The Baltimore RO received my IU claim on 04/30/2019. It’s is an FDC and includes a DBQ from my therapist. Will I still need a c&p exam? The last one was done in 2016 and it was brutal. I’m hoping to avoid a repeat. Right now my claim is in Initial review. Has anyone had a claim that jumped from the Initial Review to Prep for Decision approval and how long did the whole process take?

tdiu Why Do You Veterans Wait? Tell Me, What Are You Waiting For?
I have, over the last couple months, heard several of our new (and some not so new) Hadit members make statements such as "We're waiting, and as soon as we get an increase in my disability percentage well, then we're going to file for TDIU." REALLY? GEE? WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR? NO, REALLY, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? If you even have the hint of possible success in filing for TDIU, DO NOT WAIT for some other increase, or whatever. JUST FILE your form 21-8940. BECAUSE YOU ARE COSTING YOURSELF MONEY. SERIOUS MONEY! After all, when you file the proper form, you ARE filing for an increase. If you do NOT file the "proper form" then the VA is not going to "inferr"…

College Degree Myth
Although there are many that believe Voc Rehab or any college training will deny one for IU, this is false. It states such in the the M21-1MR:Deny IU claims or reduce compensation that is based on a finding of IU only if the facts demonstrate that the Veteran is not precluded from obtaining gainful employment by reason of SC disability has in fact obtained gainful employment, or has failed to cooperate with development, such as failing to return a competed VA Form 21-8940when requested. Notes: The fact that a Veteran is participating in a program of rehabilitation does not preclude a finding of IU. The fact that a Veteran has completed a …
