Can an Empty Sella be caused by a TBI?
This is what I have. I have one on the MRI. According to these yes. There may be a few things that can cause that: Argue with your Primary Care Physician and Neurologist with this data because there seem to be a lot of links that can't be ignored: Cleveland Clinic mentions that Secondary Empty Sella Syndrome (SES) can result from various causes including head trauma, such as a traumatic brain injury1. National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke states that Secondary ESS can be the result of the pituitary gland regressing within the cavity after an injury2. Johns Hopkins Medicine also indicates that Secondary ESS may be caused by injur…

New rating?
Greetings hadit family finally received my new rating on tbi that was a Bva remand and service connected on January of this year. Since service connection I had to attend 3 c&p exams in regards to the tbi, which were the following tbi, ptsd, and headaches. Today I received my new rating decision which they combined my tbi with ptsd but this didn’t change my overall percentage(70%). No increase on the ptsd and just 10% for the tbi. In my rating decision it only talks about the tbi and ptsd exams with no mention of the headache exam. The headache exam was for residuals of the tbi, which was the last exam I did but no new rating in the decision letter in regards to …

Effective Date?
Good evening to all after finally being awarded service connection with residuals of a TBI at the BVA on Jan. 13, 2023. Just waiting on the RO to implement, I was reading over the BVA decision and wanted to know if this should go back to my original claim date in 2009? I was originally denied due to them saying no records of an injury or in service event occurred. Then I’d reopened this claim in July of 2016: “Based on the evidence of record, the Board finds that service connection for residuals of a TBI is warranted.First, the Board finds an in service event occurred as the Veteran’s STRs contain a diagnosis of TBI.” Also the benefit of the doubt was ruled in m…

Are IED explosions considered toxic exposures?
Happy New Year to all and good afternoon. My tbi has been remanded then denied at the RO on Nov 28th 2022. It says I meet the requirements for service connection but my tbi should have resolved already. Now it’s back at the BVA and is being reviewed by a judge. I was just curious is it still hope that this may be considered under the Pact Act?

Best Avenue for TBI Claim
I am currently rated at 90% total (70% PTSD, 10 asthma, 10 tinitus, 20 each shoulder). I was recently diagnosed with a TBI by a non-VA provider and am going to file for that as a new claim. However, here's the question. Since I'm already rated PTSD, would that stand on its own, or would it be considered secondary to TBI? If secondary, does that somehow affect the rating? And lastly, what other secondary claims can I be looking at that can accompany a TBI rating? I know migraines could be one, and I am diagnosed with migraines, but I have never filed a claim for that. Just looking to get all my options here. Thanks - Kevin

I need some help, please
My husband was diagnosed with a TBI years ago, but was never rated by the VA. Now he has been diagnosed with frontotemporal neurocognitive disorder, and there is no family history. How do I get the TBI rated and where do I even start? I have been gathering research and doctor's notes and everything. This life is hard, and his multiple TBIs--at least 5--are service connected. I'd appreciate any insight and assistance. He is already rated 100% for PTSD and additional injuries are rated at 30%, I believe.

TBI claim
I recently received my TBI claim status, the va told me it want service connected. I’m told by my psych she believed it was a TBI when I was in service. I think it because I was in a joint base. I am requesting all my med records, from the va where they confirmed and my mental health clinics. Are TBI still impossible to get? Should I try to find a specialist , and get a nexus letter.?

DBQ Differs from VA Treatment Records
I am looking for a little advice on how to proceed with my current claim. After several years of TBI treatment with the local VA hospital, I filed for a TBI claim. I am still awaiting the decision but just received my C-File that I requested a few months ago. From what I can tell, my DBQ DR did a horrible job and I am going to get underrated when the final decision comes. I was in and out within 25 minutes and no testing was performed. Once I told the DR that I had already done Neuropsych testing with the VA hospital the exam ended shortly after. When viewing my C-File and the record of the TBI DBQ exam I noticed that the DR service connected my TBI but didn't accur…

Neuro exam from VA
I just took a neuro exam and the Dr. Said it was invalid due to low test scores. I have memory issues, ptsd, and was involved in a dismounted ied which rattled me. Physician stated there was no way the blast could cause a mild tbi and concluded my test scored were invalid, what does this mean.

90% , need advice to get to 100%
Any advice will be appreciated. Here is what I have: 70% PTSD with panic attacks 50% sleep apena 30% IBS 30% migraine including migraine variants (also claimed as headaches), residuals of traumatic brain injury. ( the professional thing re: a migraine rating is that.....going into the BVA process, i did not have a migraine rating. I did have a 10% TBI rating. The law judge found the migraine diagnosis in my reccords, ordered another TBI eval, and once the eval was done, my 10% TBI was changed to 30% migraine. I need to get to 100% P & T. The route i want to take is get my 30% migraine up to a 50% migraine. I know the elements t…
