Metastatic Prostrate Cancer
I just received an award of a 100% temp disability for the above mentioned illness. With another review in 6 months. The issue is, there was no mention of my incontinence problems by the CP examiner in the award. I have been having issues with this problem for a couple of years that has gotten worse since my radiation treatments. What will I need to do to insure they award a rating for this condition once they call me in for a review and adjustment from my present rating. Thank you

Agent Orange Awareness Day Aug 10,2020
This is the first time VVMF has honored this day as Agent Orange Awareness Day. If you are a Gold Star Wife or Gold Star Husband, check your email for their announcement on this day. My husband's photo above is on line with info on others who are honored in a special plaque on the Wall. I found it on line today at the VVMF site, and it still hurts to know he is gone. He was an altar boy in Middleton,NJ and the rest of the photo shows him with his mother, in front of their house , and was taken one week before he left for USMC. 1964. His hair had began to turn white after he his discharge from USMC , 1968. While their names are not on The Wal…

I Don't Want to Look Greedy Here, But...
I recently reported here that my AO claim for Prostate Cancer was approved, with a 100% rating. While I'm grateful for the award I have a question about the disability start date. I filed the claim online and submitted my evidence on May 21st. The VA has always acknowledged the filing date as May 21st. But when I received the decision letter it said the start date was June 1st, not May 21st. Is the VA correct? Are my disability payments effective on June 1st even though I filed my claim on May 21st? Thanks again everyone for your replies and expertise.

AO Prostate Cancer Claim was Approved in One Month!
I asked for help on this site several times and the responses were great. I'm an AO Vietnam vet and I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. I submitted a claim online. I uploaded the biopsy and my DD214 after being told that I needed to prove just two things: I served in Vietnam and I have Prostate Cancer. I had a phone interview with an RN that lasted about 10 minutes. Exactly one month from the day I filed the claim I got a letter from the VA that said I was 100% disabled and would receive $3106 a month. Thanks everyone for your help. Now I need to focus on getting better.

How long is Agent Orange toxic? The answer!
As the first veteran to be granted AO exposure at a post or base inside CONUS, I am asked many questions. The most prevalent question is," how long is AO toxic after application", for the purpose, and in the amount, needed to win an AO claim outside of Vietnam and Korea. The short answer is that there is no answer. In order to win my claim I had a statement from the world's foremost agent orange expert who states that once AO enters the sub soil, 100 years. On the other hand, some experts reply that it quickly evaporates in the foliage and tends to never make it to the ground, and even if it does, the residuals are not detectable and are non toxic after three days in sun…

The VA has told me that rather than be examined by a doctor regarding my AO prostate cancer disability claim, the "Veterans Evaluation Services" (VES) will be sending me an email questionnaire to fill out. Does anyone know about this?
I previously sent the VA my pathology report results (three of 12 samples were cancer, Gleason scores of 6, 6 and 7. They also have proof of my 13 months of service in Vietnam. The person on the phone said that a doctor's exam was not necessary. He said after they receive my completed email questionnaire from the VES, my claim would be sent to a rater. Does this sound about right? Thanks.

New claim first since 2018 filed
The process seemed pretty upfront and easy. I was dx with psoriasis vulgaris this year with the VA. With 13 lovely new red scars and marks all over my shins and legs. Just curious I was already rated for 30% for my scars from my severe TBI wondering how they will even look at this being P and T 100% scheduler with the DX paperwork all in my VA medical records. Curious to see how the timeline these days will look especially when they say no cure and ever time I get cut on my arms and legs I have to live with a new red mark on my body not that bothered except when the cuts turn into scales freaks my family out prior to my service no dx of anything like this and throughout m…

Help Finding where c-123's have been stationed
Im wondering if anyone has any experience tracking down where the C-123's that were used to spray agent orange have been? If any veteran has worked on these planes at any point during service, after their use of spraying agent orange, could claim disability benefits from agent orange presumptive conditions.

How staight forward is the process for filing a claim for AO related prostate cancer?
I served in Vietnam in 67-68 with the Marines. I was just diagnosed with prostate cancer (three of 12 biopsy samples, Gleason scores of six, six and seven). I filed a VA claim online and submitted the pathology report. Can anyone tell me what to expect from the VA? I am already an Agent Orange disabled vet in their system (10%) for another issue. A decision on the course of treatment for the prostate cancer will be made soon. It will probably be radiation or active surveillance. Thanks.
