COPD / Asthma related to dirt road dust sprayed with Agents Orange and Blue in South Korea DMZ
While serving on the DMZ between the Koreas in 1968, we constantly traveled in open trucks, convoy style, from our camps to our positions on the barrier fence, to go to our patrol jump off places, or to go into the DMZ for GP (Guard Post) hilltop positions. Every day the dirt roads were nothing but pure dust, and we would breathe this into our lungs usually twice a day for 20 minutes or more per trip. While in country I suffered no breathing problems, as well as when I was discharged. About 12 years ago I noticed that I was short of breathe a lot, especially when I would be playing around with my grandchildren. Shortly after that, I went to a specialist doctor who determi…

ridiculous IMO fees
I know that Dr. Bash is well respected on this forum, so I sought out his service to write me an IMO for my prostrate cancer . He took a long time to get up with me , even failing to call me after a call was scheduled. I had to email him again, and request another call. He was never specific as to the cost of his services. I used Dr. Anise's services in the past and his fees for two IMO's were $1500, in fact that is what he charges everyone. Another doctor Dr. Seiter has his fees listed on his web site and his services for an IMO are $500. Dr. Bash's secretary called me a few minutes ago and quoted me $10,000 for an IMO. She wanted $3000 down, and to arrange a payment p…

Blue Waters AO info from OGC
The General Counsel VA has explained how BWN vet claims will work as to retro: https://www.va.gov/OGC/docs/2019/VAOPGCPREC3-2019.pdf It is 19 pages long, and defines how these BWN claims are technically not under Nehmer but still have the favorable EED provisions. Thousands of BWN 12 mile limit vets and/or their survivors are, in my opinion, still completely unaware of the Blue Water Navy Act, and it seems,if they don't have a PC, or do but never google for BWN or AO issues, the National News isn't interested in informing them.

Stage 4 Prostrate cancer
I was just diagnosed with stage 4 Prostrate cancer, which has already spread to my bones in lumbar spine in 4 small areas, and 1 small area my right thigh. There is no cure for stage 4 Prostrate cancer. Average Life expediency is 5 years after diagnosis. I had not had my prostrate checked since I was 33 I am now 66.. you do the math.. It was not anything I had though about. My doctor told me any man age 50 and above needs to be checked yearly with the finger test ( ouch) or Urine test. This cancer is treatable and can be cured if caught in the early stages... Get your Prostate checked. I had always though my Lungs would kill me....but we are all going to die sometime…

VA disputes science panel’s findings on proposed Agent Orange diseases
The VA claims the final report will not be ready until late 2020, but they have been telling everyone "soon" for years and keep moving the ETA out further and further. Additionally, after the final report is ready, they are wanting to have it peer-reviewed, which will add additional time. At this rate, I am wondering if any Vietnam veteran will still be alive before they are finished. I'm keeping a close eye on this because my father may benefit from it. He was diagnosed with several factors related to hypothyroidism which does not run in the family. He even had to quit work because it was no longer safe for him to drive by himself. https://www.militarytimes.com…

Following Lung Cancer
Hi, My husband has been receiving 100% for AO connected lung cancer..we knew it was temporary but were told he would have an exam to see if he had an residual issues and be re-rated or put back to zero. Well we got a letter this week saying they decided not to see him and they said they will be taking him to zero three months from the date of the letter. So he did not get the exam to be able to point out the residuals even tho on the review they did they actually have info about the residuals he does have. The letter included a form 21-4138 With two big sections on it labeled "remarks". So, I don't want to mess this up. How should I proceed? Should I just write…

Question for any AO historians/AO advocates here
I am doing research for BWN to support legislation for AO exposed Guam veterans. In 2003 Rep Lane Evans ( as you know- a superb advocate for AO vets) received a letter from : "P. W. Grone, Letter from the Principal Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Installations and Environment) to Congressman Lane Evans, 23 September 2003, RE: No records on Guam; Summary of 28 locations on the use of Vietnam-era herbicides, per request. " oaji.net/articles/2017/4108-1509420993.pdf (part of the vast collection of Alvin Young's work) Does anyone here have a copy of that letter? This is a needle in a haystack, but believe me those needles …
