After 50 years I received a 100% disability rating. At 73 years of age I was awarded it about a month ago.
After 50 years I received a 100% disability rating. At 73 years of age I was awarded it about a month ago. Prior to then I received a letter from the Treasury Department stating they didn't have my banking info available if I was awarded a pension. Turns out they did. I had to call the number given to verify it. The gentleman I talked to told me how it can take 6 to 8 years for an appeal. WOW! That was depressing. He said the Washington office alone had 4 or 5 staffers and handled 30,000 claims. I wrote to Senator John McCain telling him what I had learned. With no reply necessary. I turned on CSPAN 2 weeks later to see what was going on with our committee hearings and I …

To "RAMP" or not to "RAMP"
As many may know, Congress has passed new legislation which essentially requires VA to cut down on appeal backlog. This plan is known as "RAMP". Currently, only Veterans who ARE INVITED by VA can elect to go with RAMP. Im not sure it will do much good to write to VA and tell them you want RAMP, tho its POSSIBLE that VA may grant this request. A well known law firm has published some credible, and valuable information on RAMP. If offered a chance to "RAMP" through a VA letter, its probably a good idea to: 1. Just do it and go for RAMP. 2. At least read the following before declining ramp, and discuss this with your representative. https:…

BVA Desicion Unclear
I am new to HadIt, thank you all for being so helpful and to the creator of the site, this platform is truly a blessing, God Bless You and your Family. I found this site while researching before my appeal. I recently had my BVA hearing and received my decision. I am unsure how to read the decision but I think it's a decision to grant my PTSD and MDD claim. I have attached a couple of pages for review. I am hoping maybe someone here can shed a little more light. I spoke to my VSO officer and he thinks they have been granted but says I should wait to be contacted again by the VA. Incidentally, my regional office is St Petersburg. Thank you for any assistance/clarity that ca…

BVA sent remand back to regional VA, they failed to follow the judges directions
BVA sent remand back to regional VA, they failed to follow the judges directions. They only copied what was in the first denial, and did not meet the conditions of the BVA judge. They totally ignored al of the injury and chemicals that got me sick. They did not use any of the missing evidence the judge stated in the remand. I am asking my POA to help me craft a letter to the local VA and BVA, specifically citing areas of failure in the SSOC. I know my case is complicated and very lengthy. I worked with chemicals and got sick on active duty. I had skin disease and was also hospitalized for gastritis, while on active duty. I got sick from je…

Sick of this BS VA life OCD
They can never get my claim right since 2010 I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to get what I have obsessions and research for the past 4 years straight about to have my wife divorce me. But she stuck it out the hard part and now I’m 100 scheduler p and t onset date of 11/16/17. My claim was from 2010 when my original decision and was 90 percent ok they corrected it finally in 2016 but not backdate it to when I filed my claim in 2010 but the best part is when they remanded two issues one currently in the blackhole of the AMC with an advance on the docket and a congressional inquiry still with one person awaiting a decision for my post thrombotic syndrome well documented so…

Made 100% P&T - have questions :)
After 30 months I’m finally there! Of course after the celebratory shock wore off I have lots of questions. On 11/30/2015 I was granted 10% tinnitus and 60% Neurogenic bladder. The bladder was granted because my str contained a notation of bladder spasms several days after having a c-section when in reality it was due to my spinal stenosis (pre-existing and not manifested until after discharge). We ask for reconsideration for the neck to get the LOU on legs (in wheelchair full time) and the connection to right arm weakness and bilateral shoulder issues. Denied. Filed NOD, received SOC and filed form 9. I already had a “more likely than not” from my VA doc but I obtained…

Denied Service Connection
I applied in 2016 for High Blood Pressure, Sleep Apnea and Diabetes and was denied “not service connected”. In 2017 I applied for PTSD and was approved for “Service Connection” I reapplied in 2018 for the previous denials, as a secondary to PTSD. Again I was denied because they stated the conditions occurred prior to my service connection for PTSD. Not sure what to do at this point. Appeal?
