If you are new to hadit and have DIC questions it would help us tremendously if you can answer the following questions right away in your first post. What was the Primary Cause of Death (# 1) as listed on your spouse’s death certificate? What,if anything, was listed as a contributing cause under # 2? Was an autopsy done and if so do you have a complete copy of it? It can be obtained through the Medical Examiner’s office in your locale. What was the deceased veteran service connected for in his/her lifetime? Did they have a claim pending at death and if so what for? If they died from anything on the Agent Orange Presumptive list ( availa…

"as Likely As Not" ?
i have a question i would appreciate your help with. the va sent my deceased husbands medical file to the va long beach medical center (he was treated here for his severe wound he was honorably discharged for) for a medical opinion as to whether he caught the hep c from the blood transfusions he received during his treatment for the wound in 1978. i spoke to a va agent this past week and was told the opinion came back with the wording "as likely as not" only. Is this the wording that gives the veteran the benefit of doubt? my husband's personal doctor wrote a letter to the va stating the hep c was a direct result of the blood transfusions he received while in the…

"dic" Live Tonight At
Tonight I will join Jerrel Cook, Carol Olszanecki, widow of BWN vet and an excellent veteran's advocate, and a widow named Joanne who is in the initial stages of a DIC claim. "hip Hip Hooray" And Let Me Say It Again 'hip Hip Hooray"...my Dic Deposit Showed Up In My Bank Account!
I had this feeling that I needed to go online and check my bank balance this morning....and THERE IT WAS- MY DIC RETRO!! I am so excited and this has taken so much off of me. I just want to dance! Now, as soon as I know that the monies are not going anywhere, I will apply it all towards my car balance. Rockman bought me a new car the end of December 2011. This is the first new car that we have ever bought. You see Rockman wanted to make sure that I had a reliable car to drive and that I would not need a new car for a long long time.He was always thinking of me, not himself. The new Ford was just a tad bit more than a used car with mileage. This payment will bring my balan…

1151 DIC award
This award for malpractice (Section 1151,38 USC took 13 YEARS,but the widow succeeded: https://www.va.gov/vetapp17/files1/1703113.txt It was kind of odd the way I found this award- which might help other survivors. In a letter I thought would be in the mail by now, to Secretary Shulkin, I decided to use some additional evidence to support one part of my concerns. I mentioned and will enclose my 1151 award letter, and gave info on another Vietnam vet the VA almost killed ( his 1151 award letter is here somewhere, and I wanted to find one more DIC award for a wrongful death. There are some at the BVA web site but the most recent one I found is above. …

17 Month Dic Claim
My husband, whom was a Desert Storm Veteran and 80% service connected Veteran died unexpectedly on 29 October 2011 following lumbar surgery for his service connected back injury. I provided them with everything in order for a decision to be made. I provided an autopsy report, a list of medications that my husband took (all VA), all the medical records from the VA, everything. Again I received another letter from the VA in March 2012 that they were working on my claim. I call…
