VA Burial benefits
https://www.cem.va.gov/cem/burial_benefits/ I have done many death shows here at hadit and at our former radio station-but I noticed today that VA has a pamphlet that can certainly help others prepare for the death of a veteran. It seems to cover quite a bit. It suggests getting 12 copies of the Death Certificate. Fairly soon after my husband died, - I needed at least 12, probably needed one more for my Nehmer AO claim many years later- I wrote my husband's Obit with all of his medals ,decorations in it and the funeral director compared it to his DD215 and said he would publish it , as I had written it. I also stated he was a service connected Vietnan…

widow's question:
I moved this from my profile- not a good place to ask a question, because I don'ty read my profile stuff much: "Hi Berta. Been away since I went to my congressman VA rep to find out status of my deceased husbands claims and he told me there wasn't any open. Then I got a letter in the mail stating that they wanted any evidence for an "Accrued Benefits" DIC claim, I might want to apply. I am assuming it is on IU He was 70% PTSD, GAF 50. I thought IU should be inferred! (when PTSD was exacerbated because of neglectful and wrong doing in several documented instances perpetrated by the VA. It was obvious to me that it gave me an earlier date, starting with the first Neg…

New member needs DIC help
"I was awarded DIC May, 2018 after years with VA trying to get SC. My husband became ill in 2002 and 8 years later he died. I submitted electronic emails after terminal illness as I struggled to care for him. I needed help finding facilities to meet his needs, knowing there was a VA facility close but that didn't happen until 2 months before he passed. Needless to say if you do the math for 7 years of private pay all savings gone. I won DIC with new and material evidence at hearing 2017. I believe my effective date is not correct. Is a CUE the right thing for me and if so how?? Thank you, Ann"

ptsd Who decides amounts of DIC?
I'm just wondering who decides on the amount of DIC? Is it the Sec. of VA or some governing body? Been doing a lot of thinking lately. My husband is 100% P&T. If he should die and it is due to his disability or he makes it to the 10 year mark, I will get approx. $1257. It will be impossible for me to make it on that amount which scares me to death. His disability goes back to 2011 officially but I am sure it was long before that. Because of that fact, it was difficult to impossible for me to pursue my own career. I was always watching him and sometimes even working for the same company so I would be able to help him and keep an eye on him and his PTSD symptoms…

SBP & DIC
I have a question. My husbands EX-WIFE was awarded SBP as part of the divorce (she has to reimburse him every month for the cost), I was wondering, and a bunch of IF's here; If he dies of a SC disability and If I get DIC, would her SBP be offset by my DIC?

Alaska Toxins, environmetal hazards- granted
This is a very unusual claim. https://www.va.gov/vetapp18/files1/1803108.txt In part: FINDINGS OF FACT 1. The Veteran passed away on July [REDACTED], 1989 due to chronic myeloid leukemia. 2. The Veteran's chronic myeloid leukemia was caused by exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or toxins while stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska from January 1963 to September 1963. 3. The Veteran passed away from a service-connected disability. There might be info in the decision to help others.

DIC
Not really sure how this DIC benefit works? I was denied life insurance due to my excessive medical records and want to see what the criteria is for my family I was made P and T Nov. 11,2016 and was 90% backdated to July of 2010. I currently have an appeal in works so that may grant an EOD of July 11,2010 for my 100% but with anything back pay related over 25k its a fight to the end. But its in my favor as soon as the BVA looks at it again after my remanded issues were denied due to not reviewing all the evidence and see that yes I had several DVTs in both my legs in connections with my TBI/Coma in 2006 in service. I don't understand the delays of the RO I thought the AMC…
