Upcoming C And P For General

Rate this question

Question

Whelp after filing my claim last April, thru my VSO, I had my hearing c and p a few weeks ago and just received my general physical c and p at Winston Regional VA outpatient clinic. The one problem i have is the fact that I got the letter on Thursday Nov 20 and the appt is for Tuesday Nov 25. Of course I won't skip it or try to change the date as the letter itself states it could be months to re-schedule a new exam. I am still waiting for the mental c and p to be scheduled.

I am so glad to finally being able to show the effects of being in the USMC light infantry can do to your knees and back and a few other parts of your body. I can live witht he knee pain, but the back is getting so bad I am thinking of breaking down and getting a cane. DDD, bulges i.e.. in l4, l5, s1 are just killing me. Can't sit can't bend over, can't tie my own shoes, wobble when i walk. Anybody have any advice....thanks a bunch...

Matt

i went today for my C & P for General exam on Back/shoulders. I had a Nurse Pract. and she didn't even use anything to measure my mobility. First word out of her mouth is we're looking at your lower back and i replied no it is upper back right side and shoulder. I am spooked this exam going to cost me time...again...we'll see...

This is the same response I got in my first cc7p exam(I'll ask the questions, you just answer), I was upset and discusted. What can you do? They are the ones doing the exam and you would think they would want your comments on where your pain is.

Went to see my family physician last week who originally diagnosed my back problems in 2007. I asked him to prepare an IMO and showed him the denial claim from the VA for my back and he was shocked at the fact that the letter actually stated less likely then not that the injury occured during military service. He has been my doctor since 2000. i have never played sports never done anything except military. So in his IMO, he stated that the injuries I suffered where more likely to have occured during 2004 when i was deployed to IRAQ (infantry) and carrying heavy loads on my back. So, I do not know if this will be enough to submit to change the VA's mind. however, I am smart enough to know that a DR's word should trump a PA, who actually conducted the c and p and completed the paperwork for a dr to just simply sign off on. any opinions. thanks

Matt

Matt, you are most likely going to have to get an opinion from a Neurosurgeon or Orthopedic Doctor to over ride the NP. The Ro's are fameous for taking the NO's opinion over a GP. It happens all of the time so be aware and Know how to retaliate. A specialist cannot be over ruled.

left lAST NIGHT ON MY WAY TO WINSTON SALEM OUTPATIENT CLINIC FOR MY C AND P FOR TBI AND PTSD, TOOK 2.5 HOURS FOR A NORMAL 50 MINUTE DRIVE( DUE TO PENDING SNOW AND BAD WEATHER). STAYED IN A HOTEL ROOM 200 METERS FORM THE CLINIC, FOUND OUT AT MIDNIGHT THEY WERE CLOSED TODAY:(. WENT THERE THIS MORNING AND MEET THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER FOR THE CLINIC, HE SAID IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAD EVER CLOSED. THE BAD THING IS I HAD PLANNED MY ENTIRE MONTH AROUND THESE C AND P'S EXAM. MY WIFE IS DROPPING ME OFF NEXT SUNDAY IN ORLANDO AS SHE WILL BE TRAVELING ON BUSINESS FOR A MONTH. DON'T KNW WHAT i AM GOING TO DO. THE AO, TOLD ME TO ASK MY VSO, TO CALL AND SCHEDULE BASED OFF MY AVAILABILITY. HOWEVER, I AM NOT SURE THAT WILL BE THE CASE. I NEED TO HAVE THEM DONE BY THIS FRIDAY. HOW FRUSTRATING. IT JUST SEEMS THAT NOTHING IN MY LIFE IS EASY. I HAVE TO FIGHT FOR EVERYTHING AND SACRIFICE.....JUST MORE DEPRESSING..

Why did they close? Weather? I've never heard of a VA Hospital closing due to snow....unless you had a HUGE blizzard there!!!

Why do you have to have your C&Ps done by Friday....just curious. I hope they can re-schedule them quickly for you.
