The sad thing about this is if it had been a soldier and not his spouse he would have not been entitled to any court award because of the Ferres (or however you spell it - sounds like the plural of fairy) Doctrine.

well maybe just maybe this will slow down military doctors either contract or actual military physicians it is amazing a spouse can sue the govt for malpractice but a active duty or a veteran can NOT because of the feres doctrine after almost 60 years of abuse of this bad decision by SCOTUS maybe Congress will change it but I doubt it
