Pete,

If your not using computer to order your MEDS you should try that been using it 2 yrs now and more problems with Austin traffic or waiting at pharmacy for prescription.

Aso down here in Austin, DAV runs a shuttle, but things are better here, you might check on that, if you haven't already ruled it out and can't drive.

Sorry about PCP have similar feelings about mine now, fortunately specialist is very good.

best of luck

I am back spent a long day. Overall I am happy. Made adjustments in medications and I have to go back in four weeks. As usual my PCP was an angel.Slight thrashing but I earned it. She also ordered me one of those gizmos that helps you walk and has seat on it. Will come in handy when I go to VA and things like that.

She sent me to patient advocate who got the no shows taken off. He walked it over and had them changed so I am no longer on no show list.

Wow there were a lot of Veterans there and for the first time I saw many more of our newer ones trying to get help. I talked about Hadit to several.

So as par for me I was worried about nothing.

Thanks for thinking about me.

My medication problems are better due to Myhealthevet but still have problems.

My PCP told me that Pharmacy had switched me from lorsartin back to Lisnopril but she fixed that back.

I was also surprised that VA had my new insurance on their paper work I guess that they will charge them.

Pete,

Glad things worked out for you. Having a good PCP is the key to VA Care in my view. Mine was on the spot 5 years ago when my PSA went over 4.0 & sent me for DRI, etc that led to finding I had Prostate Cancer. Had radiation treatment & all is well. Several months ago I had Heart problems & was in local hospital. Called her when I got out & in no time had appointment. My VARO was backed up on Heart Cath & she checked on 3 other VARO's & I went to one nearest home. I have called her 3 times (TAPS Line) in last 3 months & in 2 to 3 hours tops she or her Nurse called back.

The Rollator (the walker deal) is a trick. I'm on my second Rollator & the seat gets about as much use as the walking part. My PC put me in for the Rollator & I went down stairs & picked up same day. Got to have the chair for shower that's trick also. I had a 9:00 appt today & as soon as I got up, had shower I hit the road. Didn't worry about how early because I was dreading the appt & wanted to get there. I got to VARO at 7:20. Guess we are not that different I didn't look for this to go good, but things have a way of working out most of the time.

Hope things keep improving for you.

Don:

I bought the shower seat on my own about 6 months ago and I really like it but now I take long showers. I try to save a little water by turning water off when I shampoo, soap and shave. I am thinking about getting one of those shower radios and than I will be set.

Rollator, I did not know what the name was till you explained it. I think that it will really help me when I go to soccer games, VA and moving around. It even has a little basket to hold stuff.

As I have posted before I do think that the VA is getting better on a regular basis but in many cases you have to ask.

The Pharmacy is still not out friend.

Pete,

If you don't have one yet --

There are mirrors that measure about 8"X8"

that are made out of material that does not easily break

like a plastic - it also doesn't fog up

and mounts by adhesieve strips

to the shower wall, anywhere you want to put it,

probably low to see better while you shave in the shower, sitting down.
