Goofy But Serious Question

Question

ok, im finally filling out my ppwk for my claim. getting it reviewed tomorrow a.m. before i submit to varo. i know alot of us with PTSD are prone to obesity. is that a valid claim with the va? im labelled on my file at the va as obese. hurt my feelings.....i prefer "fluffy" myself :rolleyes:

Okay, "Fluffy" it is.

As far as being fat and whether it is a "claimable" disability, you'd need to look on the 38cfr pages and see if it's listed under the diagnostic codes. I would look it up, but I have two more doughnuts left from this mornings doughnut "run", and you know doughnuts are, they jist ain't no good on the second day.

metoo iam round,real round,340-plus very smallhead i lookifunny i was obease in my,smr,at17,30yrs later still round but thay say ,15 med iam on dont have nothing to do with it

i wish mine was due to meds....its just bcuz i drank like a fish and ate like a pig to avoid everything! im gonna ask today if they va will pay for lapband surgery. the worst they could say is no....

Many of the meds the VA gives us cause weight gain especially the drugs the shrinks give us. The problem is does the VA compensate for it and so far I have never heard about it.

If it were me I would concentrate on winning the claims that the VA pays for.

VA in Dallas does lapband but I wonder if it is worth it.

Yup, Pete is correct, the VAMC Dallas does, apparently, a LOT of lapband procedures.

Go to your VAMC and ask about the MOVE program. It has something to do with the weight loss program and the surgery.

I went to one meeting.........the gal that was head of the program was 5 ft (in any direction). I figured that if she was the "leader of the band" then I darn sure didn't want to wind up playing the trombone!
