I stand corrected. I thought you were referring to Fibromyalgia vs CFS/CFID (both rated under the same code). To the original question, PTSD an CFS/CFID are rated seperate. My Bad. A person can have PTSD+Fibromyalgia+CFS/CFID.

I started this post, because I read that a person was rated for PTSD, 70% and CFIDS 40%

What you all taught me you can only be rated for one mental disorder

This is an exception, and seperate, and does fall into the mental disorder category, if I read the advice correctly. I am learning so much

sgmdae,

I understood your original post and I understood Sharon's post that was not clear. CFS/CFIDS does not fall under the rating category of a mental condition. A person can be service connected for CFS/CFIDS and PTSD at the same time. VA calls it CFS. Some think that CFS and Fibromyalgia are the same, they are not and they are not rated the same. A person can be rated for CFS and Fibromyalgia at the same time without pyramiding. I think Sharon misunderstood and posted information of fibromyalgia and it is not the same as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. CFS and Fybromyalgia have some of the same symptoms but are diagnosed differently so they are rated differently. It's true you can only be rated for one mental disorder but these are not in the same category.

What VA wont do is pay a veteran for multiple disorders like: mood disorder, somatoform disorder, PTSD, anxiety disorder, or chronic adjustment disorder. These fall under the category of mental disorders but CFS does not.

PTSD rating code is 9411

CFS/CFIDS rating code is 6354

Fibromyalgia rating code is 5025

I hope this make sense
