Ptsd - New Claim 60% Vet

Question

Hello I'm currently service connected at 60%. I've recently filed a claim for PTSD, depression & anxiety that is associated with my PTSD. My goal is to obtain IU or 100% total combined rating for my conditions. My PTSD is well documented by a Psychiatrist by written letter, same with the depression and anxiety. He states that my condition is linked to a traumatic event that occurred while in the service. I have in service medical records as proof of the traumatic event in writing.

I want to know what my chances are for obtaining a 100% or IU. I ask because I'm not requesting IU. I was told that I could not request IU unless I have one disability at 40 or greater and another at 20 or greater with a combined total of 70%.

My "NEW" claim is for three separate issues (depression, anxiety and PTSD). With medical proof from my Psychiatrist (doctor), lack of employment for the last 7 years, will the VA beat me down and low ball me on this claim?

Any help would be great! I know some of you have been through this process before and I'm looking for some advice. Advice to help me get to 100% from 60%.

Thanks,

OK, are you rated for any mental heal dx? if so how did you go about obtaining a rating?

anyone have any experience or can anyone share an experience that will help guide me through their treacherous swamps.

1) i know they'll low ball me at first

2) i will file an appeal

but did any of you have a hard time obtaining a rating for PTSD? do any of you have a rating for a mental health issue.

Thanks,

I would venture to say that the majority of us are service connected for a mental condition. The ones that are not have a mental condition. Go to the PTSD Forum and you can read plenty of our stories. Due to the nature of PTSD it is not something that we often just write about. If anyone want to share, please make sure that you mark the forum "Trigger". For some of us it takes us to a place we don't want to be. Will help as much as I can.

Did you formally file the TDIU form yet ? Form 21-8940 available at the VA web site.

70 % SC generates the VA to send the form to the vet-

The form can be sent to them by the vet regardless of their SC rating.

If I were you I would apply fpr SSA disability too.
