Kelly

You became the Ghost in the Machine. My local vet center wanted me in one of their PTSD groups to fill a slot. I wanted to get IU. We did not see eye to eye.

2001 in Seattle I was suicidal and crying at the Vet Center and they said since I wasn't a Vietnam vet I had to go to The Machine.

Someone steered you wrong, back in 2001. Vet Centers were opened to veterans of all wars and conflicts in 2001. In 1996 Congress extended eligibility to all veterans that served during all wars and conflicts. MST, as well. Even droped the word Vietnam and changed the name to the "Vet Center" I cannot believe that a counselor did not see you for at least 5 visits or gently hand you off to a contract counselor or vamc Ph.D. or MSW????. Were you ever in a war zone or era? Please tell me more about your experience in the Seattle Vet Center.

I am very interested in your vet center story, Notorious Kelly. Please respond.

I think the increase of VET centers is a great idea,

when Iraq is over, there will be a lot of VETs looking for assistances

The more places to go, the more care the VET population will get

Not much more to the story, Commander Bob.

I took the bus to main VA and talked briefly with someone, then moved to Alaska & rode out the midlife thing in bars for 4 years.

I just got PTSD eval this year.

I hope the vet centers can help people too.
