Cardio Exam

Rate this question

Question

My VSO signed me up for a cardio exam at the VA sometime in the future, hopefully. I have a stint and take Plavix and an asperin everyday. Who will I see a doctor or a nurse and will they know anything? I hope its not like the other exams that I have had . The VSO said that they may be able to state that my CAD is secondary to my AO/diabeties or my PTSD. I have trouble getting any of my private doctors to make any nexus between these issues and CAD.

Billy, Cad is secondary to Hypertension as well as DMII.

You need to claim it if you have not already. Your stint is proof you have it.

It will be a cardioligist doing your exam.

You will most likely get another stress test, echo or possibly another heart cath.

I saw a PA for my cardio exam. It was a farce. I appealed it and went from 0% to 60%. The PA should have gone to jail for that exam.

John,

Thats what I figured would happen with this exam. Thank God I have insurance and was treated by a private physician for my condition.

If the CAD showed up much prior to the DMII diagnosis-they wont want to secondarily service connect the CAD.

Sometimes a heart attack itself reveals first signs of diabetes-which they should rule out or rule in and treat.

Diabetes is the most underdiagnosed disease in the USA as a person can have it for years before they know they have diabetes and by then it can have already affected the heart etc.

ANy abnormal glucose readings should be pursued by a doctor-and the HBIAC test is a good way to show consistent high glucose.

Do the private doctors have any rationale why they wont provide a nexus?

If they are saying something else caused the CAD-the VA will probably end up saying that too and you will need to get another medical opinion to establish the nexus.
