Winning Ptsd Claim

Question

met up with a VSO from american legion and got everything submitted for my ptsd claim...to date i am 80% rated and EVERYTHING has been linked back to the same incident (also the same incident that separated me) and the ptsd was of course apart of the same incident...he said we have no issue winning this in his personal opinion. im so pumped, at the same time we submitted my request for IU....if the ptsd doesnt rate me high enough for 100% (anything over 30% to 60% will rate me at 90% overall) that they'll grant the 10% for IU. ontop of this i got everything submitted before nov 4th (my separation date) so everything will be retroed back to the day i got out!!!

thanks everyone for there help on here, i couldnt have done it without u guys! now i just need to wait for something back for ssdi

Best wishes for you. Glad you and the VSO are staying on top of things. Now you know the lingo and the effort it takes to get the compensation - come back and help others. Good your process is going quickly, many have been at it for years and with long stories of changed lives.

Sorry that you need to get IU so soon after service, thank you for your service - keep in touch!

Pete i have to thank u the most, since day one since i joined on here u have helped me probably more than u would know.

Thank u cowgrl for the kind words.

I have a new beast to conquer now...my vso did some digging for me and came up with some helpful information. Like i said 1 incident caused all my issues, the major issue while in service was the loss of use of my left ankle...i got separated due to the ankle (the military didnt rate anything else) at 10%...he said i can bring this to the attention of my congressmen and show him/her the facts between ehat the va is rating me and what the military did, and possibly appeal my 10% and request for higher to be medically retired, so i had asked what the difference would be being 100%va or medically retired and he stated "tricare for life is far better than campva" haha but he also said to play it safe, that one day it could come about that a retired vet could possible "double dip" per say by collecting retirement and va compensation together
