Taking Continuous Meds

Rate this question

Question

Read this in another forum and I am not sure if it is true or not, so I decided to come to the experts here at Hadit.

The question is, if you are SC let's say for High Blood Pressure and you have to take meds for the rest of your life in order to control it, do you rate 10% for this alone? I tried to do the research on this but came up blank.

Hmmmmm..... if you take meds for HBP it seems you should be able to get something even if only 0%. 140/90 is the cut off for being normal. Really, that is high by any competent doctor's standard. If it gets over that your body is being damaged most like. Mine is up around that level without meds. If a real doctor sees you have 140/90 he is going to sound alarm bells if that is a consistent reading.

If I don't take my meds, I am typically 140/100 to 160/110.

Too high, Vync. take your meds, no matter what your VA issues are. Sort that out later. Keep your BP lower or die.

I prefer life! Thanks to lisinopril, my BP tends to run at about 120/80 with a pulse normally around 50.

I got an allergy shot at the VA last week. I was 145/90 with pulse of about 70. In Oct 2008, the nurse OD's me on my dosage, so now I am pretty apprehensive about getting my shots.

I like to live too. That is why they have me on 5 different meds.

Lisonipril

Clonodine

Metropolol

Amlopidine

HZII.

Had to Cut the dosage back last week as they were causing BP to bottom out. ( I lost a bunch of weight)

If I dont take the meds, I am easily 180 / 140.
