Herbicide Exam

Question

I just received papers saying the VA has received my claim for IHD and a request for increase on my tittinus.

It also mentions that if I have not had a herbicide examination that i should get one. Is this exam neccessary since I'm a RVN veteran?

My VA AO registry exam discovered my DMII and my PN. You still have to file a claim. The doctor that did my exam told me to file a claim. It was the best exam I ever got from the VA. Since they are looking for possible AO diseases you have a better chance of having the AO exam doctor identify an AO disease. I would take the exam.

Well, I had my AO exam today and except for the blood workup and chest x-ray being done, seeing the doctor was a joke. Jusy my opinion. He checked my one ear and not the other because I had a hearing aid in it. When he pressed on my neck and abdomen to see if there was any pain, my 8 month old grandson could have pressed harder. He did say it might be up to 5 months before the regs are written for IHD though. I drove over 100 miles for that exam when my VA doc that's 50 miles closer could have done the same thing. :D He asked me if I had any other problems which I answered yes too and he said I would have to take that up with my regular VA doc.

He told me if they found anything wrong with the blood workup or x-ray they would let me know in a couple of weeks.

Well, I've vented a little. Thank GOD for my happy pills. :D

I forgot to mention that the gentleman ahead of me told me that the doc was a twink and when he checked him for swollen ankles the doc didn't even ask him to take his boots off. Just felt his boots....

Jeff, my AO IHD exam was a total waste of time, if the VA can read, which I am unclear about, they could have read the two letters from real Doctors and specialists in Cardiac . The two inches of 10 years of hospital records and and the operations, and test are of more use that a 15 minutes feel my feet exam...

Plus I told hem of the VA MUGA test, he seemed not to be interested in that, " That is not good enough " MUGA, need something better.

When asked if he had read the two [physicians letters, he was none responsive.... even though I asked him several times.

He actually had to press and look at my ICD, before he seemed to believe I had one...

Even though I submitted tests, of the ICD every three months that the Private hospital did and two years the VA has been doing all the heart test and monitoring of the ICD also, every three months....

You can only wonder the narrowness of these new rules for AO three new Presumptives
