C And P Exam Declined Left At 30%

Question

So I had a PTSD C and P exam and had a jerk of a doctor. Due to my PTSD and Sleep Apnea I asked for an afternoon appointment. Well the VA set me up for a 3:30 appointment and you guessed it, the doctor was in a rush to get me out the door my 4 pm to get home. He kept blowing me off and ignoring me when I was explaining my situations. I wound up asking me if he "planned on actually helping me?" I guess this made him mad and about two minutes later he told me "we are done". My question is this, do I file and appeal or file some sort of mistreatment or what do I do? I had a VA rep tell me not to file an appeal but some kind of reevaluation or something like that? Any help would help. Thanks in advance.

I would look up the C&P exam checklists and compare that with the actual exam (or lack of) that you experienced. Take very detailed notes to see what might have been missed before they fade from your memory. Some examinations can be very short (less than 15 minutes) because there is just not much to them. When I complained to the RO board about my shoddy C&P exam in 1997, my second C&P exam in 1999 was a lot more intricate.

You need to get a copy of the exam to see what the doctor said. You don't want to piss off your C&P doctor. Even if they do a half-ass exam wait until you get the report and then take off on them. Many times you actually have to wait for a decision and go the whole nine yards. Do you have your own doctor to write a report for you? The C&P doctor is not there to help you. He is just there to do an exam.
