maset22
Thanks for this board. By reading I found out about NSC. Would my spinal anomalies which are congenital and denied by VA, but granted by SSA as fully favorable, Could that be use for NSC? I am a twenty two year retired veteran, with spouse working also. I can't seem to find the allowable income limit. I am under sixty five. Served in desert storm. I am rated at 40%, and working with my VA Dr. on PTSD. Would this compensation be for me? Or should I use it as a last resort?
Berta
SSA for a NSC disability wont help gaining SC for it. With 40 % SC now I feel your best bet is to build on the 40% SC. NSC awards depend on limited income and medical expenses. If you have filed for compensation for PTSD and your stressor can be verified ( they will usually always concede stressor with CAR, CIB or PH on a DD 214) this is in my opinion the best way to go here. Now is the time -if you feel you will need buddy statements or any other info as proof of your stressor to start gathering that information.
