Question

:D Ok lets not get funny here, I had my Hypertension exam for an increase for HBP so I'm waiting for the results but in the mean time I just received a appointment for ED. ok nowI did not ask for this but is this an automatic claim? is this something that now hichikes on the Hypertension claim? another question here what is intailed in the ED exam? because I can not find anything in the VA book that gives this a secondary claim or what kind of exam takes place unless they show movies? B) (I'm just kidding here). but really anyone been through this or can give me a general ideal what to expect. Thanks :D

As long as your service connected meds are what's causing your impotence, ed, etc...The reg says loss or use of creative organ so it wouldn't have to be cut off in order to get the "K" grant :D. Impotence would qualify. When they say loss they are mainly meaning loss of a testicle or testicles. You have to have your doctor put in writing or in your progress notes that your service connected meds are what's causing the issue. Even with this the VA still might conduct an exam.

Ok Jerr, your saying if you can't salute and shoot off your canon because of the meds you take you can get compensated for that. :D

Going to have to bring this up with my VSO.

Jeff - yes, if you can't get or maintain an erection, due to your SC meds, you can get an SMC "k" award. Whether your camera takes photos or not doesn't matter.

SMC-K award for ED is a pretty easy award to get if you are on medication. Of all the claims this is probably the easiest to prove and the VA is liberal in applying it.

I think you can get up to three SMC awards. Please correct me if i'm wrong on this.

Thia is Loma Linda Bill here and I need to ask where did you find the rate tables for that type of award, I am real new to this and I have a claim for ED as well alond with PTSD. any help I sure would like and thanks guys, Bill

ok now I think we are having TMI with this topic ;) thank you all for responding, well had the ED exam yesterday it went pretty good, without the movie's  just kidding here, basicly it comes down to the medications that are the main cause, I saw a female Dr. that was different  after the exam/questioning/interogation I was fit to be a Federal Citizen, hahaha that was funny. Well now she went over my C&P folder which now looks bigger that the Bible and noticed that I had been seeing the VA for foot problems and I wear arch supports and have been getting injections in the arch area for the past 4 years. She noted that since I borke both knees on active duty I should put in a claim for secondary condition for my feet. reason is my knee condition would warrant a valued claim that the military injury aggrvated the condition in my knee, I told her I tride this before and the VA came back stating that I have no record of feet problems while in the Marine Corps. so therefore my claim was denied for reason of NO MEDICAL ENTRYS IN SMR ( serviceman medical records).

Rhodesia,

Did your ED exam consist of just a records/medications review?
