Berta Posted March 10, 2010 Share Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) You can usually verify that VA received it via 1-800-827-1000 but for any status on the claim-the VA IRIS system might be able to give you more info. They can be emailed via the Contact Us area of the VA web site. Here in NY (I deal with Buffalo VARO) they seldom even read a NOD for a year after it has been filed. We have the year to file but someone told me the NODs then get color coded as to month and then if the year code crops up then they will read it. Responses on my claims there do support that my NOD didn't get read for over a year after I filed it. Other NODS do get faster attention-and they have given OIF OEF vets faster processing -sometimes.
