Veteran Claim

teejay53

Question

I filed for DIC and Pension in 2009 and I received this letter today. The letter is from Social Security and is titled "SOCIAL SECURITY REQUEST FOR INFORMATION".

---------------------------------------------------------------

In the letter:

Social Security has received the following:

A claim filed with the Veteran's Administration for social security benefits has been forwarded to us (Social Security).

The claim we received is a duplicate of an earlier claim. The decision we made on the earlier claim still applies because there are no new items.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I did not know the Veteran's Adminstration forwarded any filed claims to Social Security. Very confusing.

I have already been approved for Social Security Survivor Benefits to start in May.

Anyone have any input on this.

Thank you,

:)
