100percent P&t Vs. Tdiu

Question

I was rated 100 percent temporary schedular for anxiety/depression 2 years ago. after my recent follow-up c&p was rated at 100 percent p&t. Am I done or should I pursue tdiu? When I got 100 percent temporary the decision letter said tdiu is a "moot point". would this also apply for 100 percent p&t? I'm thinking it does.

I really want to get this straight, you were rated 100% schedular for anxiety/depression with a re-evaluation in two years. The two years has come and you were re-evaluated and based on your C & P you were granted 100% Schedular P & T. Are you done or should you pursue TDIU? When you got 100% schedular the first time, the rating decision said that TDIU was a moot point. Would this also apply for 100% P & T? I'm thinking it does.

Just keep in mind that 100% is 100% the only thing that would be different is the P & T award. When a veteran is awarded P & T it opens the door for Dependent Education, Champ VA, and Property Tax Exemptions (check your state). I am not sure if you had a dependent in college, or a dependent that was sick and had to go to the hospital that you want to be reimbursed for, it does offer a waiver for insurance but that would not apply. So it would be your call depending on how much money you spent out of pocket for your dependent college or hospital bills, while you were waiting two years to get the P & T award.

If I am off someone else will chime in

Hope This Makes Sense

Carlie is right, Forget about IU. Your in a better situation as P and T. You could now work if you are able and want to without fear of reprisal from VA. Iu vets must undergo questions every year about them working and ect. Schedular Vets do not.

With 100% schedular you also have a better shot at A&A or housebound I think.

That's correct: AA, Housebound and SMC (special monthly compensation or "K" awards) are commonly awarded to 100% schedular vets, and not to TDIU vets. ~Wings
