Question

Got my C-file the medical records for my active duty are missing alot. No nam records, no records about illness at Fort Polk, and no records

of injuries at Ft Dix.

dont get me wrong- they did me good 70%= 100% IU. But I had claims for other injures and illness based on what the missing would have shown.

Any ideas???? appreciate any advise. the records should exist because the events did happen!!!!!

The C file is only the claims file.

It could contain copies of medical records that you yourself sent to the VA.

VA Medical records have to be requested separately from the C file and the VAMC whoich treats you should have a form to use or just send them a letter asking for copies of them.(If the claim is still current then these med recs would be at the VARO)

Your SMRS might still be at the VARO or shipped back already to NARA.

You can request a copy of your SMRs with a SF 180 form and can do this all on line at NARA under the Military Records area.

Yes Ma'am-- When I requested my c file I also requested my military medical records, unit histories, and my prsonell files.

I did this because the NARA stated all recoers were stil at the waco VARO

I know the frustration since I had records of knee pain in basic training and about 5 months of psychiatric treatment at HAAF before I was discharged. None of these records ever showed up in my SMR's. I re-requested these HAAF records just recently. I think these records were destroyed at HAAF is my hunch.
