Agent Orange Examination

Rate this question

Question

I went to day for my AO Exam. Labs at 10:00, and xrays at 10:30, and then come back at 3:00PM for the doctor to exam me. Well, the doctor saw me first, and did no exam. He ask me what my medical issues were, and typed them into the computer. Then I went for the lab and xray. The doctor never examined me, and the only time he even got near was when we shook hands. I go back monday for the lab and xray resuls, but must wai a few weeks for the doctor's report. I should hold judgement until I get the reports back, but this was not was I expected.

The agent orange exam is not the c/p exam....The test is a blood sample is taken, a reviewer asking you questions, like where you were in vietnam, yrs there etc, and a x-ray exam...In about two weeks they are supposed to send you a letter stating their findings, which your primary doctor uses the letter to refer you to specialists..

Now that I have my exam completed, how does one get the doctor's report? I know that it will take a form (there is always a form) and send it to Houston. Does anyone know how long it will take? Can this be done by calling the 800 number?

For most of us we go to the Release of Information desk usually in a remote place inside the VA and ask for the record or records that we want. Its really pretty easy in Dallas usually printed out for you on the spot.

My suggestion is to ask where it is at the information desk in the VAMC where you had the exam.

Pete, Maybe I don't understand. I did get the Lab and Xray reports here in San Antonio, but was told that if I wanted the Doctor's report I would need to request it from the VA in Houston. I do not know what kind of report he can make since all he did was shake my hand, and ask what was wrong with me. The process was to get the Lab and Xray done and then see the Doctor. They made me see the Doctor first and then the Lab and xray. A## backwards.
