Supplemental Insurance Gap?

Rate this question

Question

Supplemental insurance to CHAMPVA is

ASI - which drops when the veteran turns 70

CHAMPVAUS - which drops when the veteran turns 65

This seems to be regardless of the age of the spouse who is the one needing and using the supplemental insurance.

A veteran's spouse has CHAMPVA and supplemental insurance coverage, the supplemental insurance will drop when he is 70 and she will be 60. Is there supplemental insurance for that gap?

I did not know I could get it.

Check out:

You do NOT have to be a retiree, but you do have to join the AMRA to be eligible for the supplemental CHAMPVA (they will refer to it as TriCare in their webpages, but, your wife is eligible for it under her CHAMPVA (read the fine print). Matter-of-fact, they have MORE member's wives that are receiving CHAMPVA than member's wives that are on TRICARE.

If ya have any questions, just give me a call.
