Narcotic Pain Meds & Urine Tests At Va

I work in the lab and see patients denied refills for narcotics because of negative drug screens. If you are told to take them as needed, please take them the day before a lab or doctor visit. This will prevent delays in refills.

Yes, and if they find even a trace of alcohol, or any illegal drug you are dead meat at my VAMC. I signed the contract for pain treatment with the VA. How long does a drug stay in your urine? I can't even have a sip of beer on my birthday if I have a appointment at the VA pain clinic or my regular doctor within a day I know for sure.

The urine drug screen for alcohol metabolites stay in your system about 3.5 days, but everyone's system is different. If you have kidney problems, it could be even longer.

I've had blood tests for just about everything i'm prescribed.

They want to know if your taking what is prescribed.

Ilegal drug screens are performed at randum blood workups from what i've seen.
