from looking at the short part and without context, it could mean rule out. Were they doing testing to determine whether you suffered from these or were these already diagnosed?

Thank you disasta!

I got to the Rule Out part, but it was a little difficult to understand exactly what it means. I believe that I have sorted it out. More or less: It could be this if there is no other evidence that confirms another diagnosis. Or maybe this: We don't really know.

According to my sources, it is really not supposed to be used in the Axis I-IV diagnosis scheme, but often is.

Thanks again.

An Excellent source John.

I used it to explain to the RO what many symbols and abbreviations meant in my husband's records because they sure didn't know.

The most insignificant appearing symbol could be a major significant point in a medical entry.

Arrows, crossed out symbols or words , and particularly abbreviations all have a reason for being in a clinical record and we cannot overlook any of them.

I also used Medilexicon to demolish a VA doctor's ludicrous opinion.

The Abbreviation was DVD.I recall here in 2003 I asked if anyone knew what that meant and a former member said you can see movies with a DVD.

The VA doc said it meant veteran "denies having Venereal Disease "

I rebutted he never denied that and his Vietnam VD is mentioned all through his VA med recs.

MediLexicon gave the real meaning- DVD Diabetic Vascular Disease

Bingo- that was what I was trying to prove he had and they never diagnosed it.

I rebutted with that info too from the source yo just posted.
