Amc Or Regional Office ?

Question

I had an appeal mental health C&P exam last month ordered by the AMC.

I tried to get a copy of the exam a couple of weeks later and was told

by the ROI that the Dr would not release a copy because I had to get it

from the RO whom had requested it. They didn't request it, the AMC did was

what I told her. She said that it was sent to the RO and to contact them.

I called the 800# and was told that they had not received the results yet,

but to write a letter and request a copy and when they received the results

a copy would be sent to me. I did this a couple of weeks back.

I decided to call today to find out if they had received the results and guess

what the H*LL I was told; "We don't have your records here and have not had them

since Jan' 09. Your records are at the AMC so all your exam results will be sent

to them." I told him what the previous conversation was with their office, and as

usual he stated; " I don't know why you were told that, because we don't have your

records."

He said the AMC received the exam results on Aug' 25th and they will be the AMC will

make a decision and then notify me. I guess my results are floating around in cyber

space some where.

What is the normal procedure in this situation? I know their is nothing normal about

the VA, but there must be some way I can find out where the results are. I have never

been able to contact the AMC concerning anything.

If you had your C&P at a VAMC go to Release of Information at that VAMC and request a copy.

Thanks Carlie for responding...I may not have worded it correctly, but I think I stated that

in the post. Yea, I had it a VAMC but Dr was contracted from what I was told.

Maybe in this case see you congressman.

Thanks John....my sentiments exactly.

Will be on the phone tomorrow. That's what got the AMC

to get off their behinds and request a C&P without waiting

for a response from the SSA the first time. They waited for

a response from the SSA for a year before congressman(lady)Hagin made an inquiry.

I would not call my congress critter on this one.

I would go back to the VAMC that did the exam - yes - AGAIN - and make a second try at it,

get a supervisor - push - push - push - but use honey all the way.

Thanks Carlie....I'll wait. I have a primary care clinic appointment Friday. I'll go

up to the ROI office and try again. I'll maybe tell a little grey lie and say that the

RO said that the AMC has my results already and to request a copy from the ROI office.
