Tdiu Claim At Rating Board

Rate this question

Question

I have been calling the 800 number and my service rep and they both tell me that my claim for TDIU is at the Rating board. I have heard that if your claim is at the rating board thats usually good news?? Means they have something to rate? Does this mean that my TDIU has been awarded?

Oh and just to let everyone know how long I've been waiting. My claim has been at the rating board, ready for decision since Sept 24th,2010. St Pete must be really backed up!! I wish we had another number we could call instead of this lame 800 number. Anyone else know a way of really finding out why its taking this long?? Its really gonna be a downer if I waited this long only to hear that it has been denied...AGAIN.

mine has been @ rating board ready for decision since oct 27 :( so, im right there with u. on the up side, its helping me with learning patience...

My claim sat at the St. Pete VARO for 10 months waiting for a new decision on TDIU and I was on SSDI and had 70% rating. You believe it when you get it in writing. Sometimes the VSO will tell you sooner. Did you have an independent medical opinion to back you TDIU claim? I had three IMO's which finally put me over the top. Consider that ST. Pete gets about 10,000 pieces of mail a day.

Hello buddy I applied for IU back in March of 2010 and I am on disability retirement from the postal service due to my service connected disabilitiys, I am presently at 80% SC 70% ptsd 30% facial 10% kidney injury 10% tintitis again my overall combined and total rating is 80% percent! my IU was denied in July of 2010 because of a mistake made by the original rating officer , I filed a DRO claim for the IU in July 2010 due to the clerical mistake had a hearing with the DRO on the 6 Jan 2011 the mistake was corrected and the DRO seemed very postive about me getting my IU , plus I had a letter from my old employer stating that I was placed on Disability due to my service connected injurys so that I believe will help alot , and I am still waiting for my decision to , I am very postive this time around and hope that I get the 100% rating !

OPTO

Yes, I was a postal worker who retired on disability. I got rated 70% and denied TDIU. I did a DRO and got the TDIU. It took about ten months I think. In my case the VARO went over my claim with a microscope to find a reason to deny it. I had to get another medical opinion to win it, and then another to get P&T. They just fought me all the way.

iron,

When they tell you it's at "the rating board, ready for decision", really doesn't even

come close to meaning some decision maker will make the decision anytime soon.

Just keep fishing !
