Secure Messaging Through Myhealthevet

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I was just notified by mail of a new way to communicate with my PCP on Myhealthevet called Secure Messaging.

If you have an account which has been verified in-person, you can log in and click on the Secure Messaging tab and opt in.

"Secure Messaging can be used to request an appointment at your VA facility, request a VA medication renewal, request an address change, or ask your primary care team questions. If your clinic is not currently participating in Secure Messaging, please be patient. It will take some time to implement this feature at every clinic nationwide.

Please note: Secure Messaging is offered through primary care providers. You should continue to follow your normal methods to contact other clinics."

Of course, my message center only points to Portland (which is about 3 VA's ago)

I just signed up with Yuma today trying to get my labs done. Gotta see a doc first (which I just did in Phoenix a week ago).

THAT part of the system just doesn't seem to work for us travelers.
