Please check out my article on the new rules at

The Petition is about 66 pages long, including exhibits, but I focused on significant parts of it.

Excellent article Berta!

It still chaps me a bit that the VA examiner said that I have many PTSD symptoms but in his opinion, didn't warrant a "full" diagnosis of PTSD, even though I have a PTSD diagnosis from a MD Psychiatrist.

Berta,

Excellent article! Thank you for making it all easy to understand.

When the new PTSD regs came into effect I had concerns that they stipulated there must be a VA diagnosis. The fact that medical diagnoses outside of the VA are being ignored is very disturbing.

NOVA and others seem to be attacking the new rules to allow for private doctors diagnosis to be accepted I hope they win.

Update:

Wounded Warriors and Vietnam Veterans of America have joined this petition and are captioned now as included by the CAVC.

I agree I hope they win and the reason why is because I believe that if a doctor has a licence to practice in his field then his/her DX should be applied with as much weight if not more as a VA doctor.

The other thing like many vets I just do not trust the fox at the chicken coop!! What I mean is with the VA paying our comp based soely on what their doctors say! There really is a clear indication that bias would be occuring!

Just my opinion! I have heart disease but I will not let the VA docs touch my heart!!
