January 2011 Va Check

another little question. not really a big question.

does anyone know va checks will be received this friday, since saturday is new year or on monday.

The ebenefits site already shows that my 1/1/11 check will be deposited 12/30/10. Since New years day is on a weekend, federal employees get Fri (12/31) off. So we should get our checks on Thur.

What day is New Year Holiday for 2011

When a holiday falls on a Saturday, all federal employees get the preceding Friday as the holiday. All federal offices will be closed on 12/31/10. That is why the ebenefits site, under VA Payment History, already shows my check being deposited on 12/30/10. That is the last business day for the Treasury until 1/3/11.

i called the va representative and was told auto deposits for va checks will be on this coming thursday - dec 30. thought you might like to know.
