Aortic Aneurysm

Question

They VA combined my AA and CAD as one. Is this correct?

They stated; Abdominal aortic pain or aortic aneurysm is incorporated into the overall impression of your coronary artery disease,status pos coronary artery bypass graft.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply;

It seems to me that Diseases of the Arteries and Veins are a separate claim then heart disease.

Am I wrong in thinking this.

Should I file a statement in support of claim wit a NOD?

Thanks

RDT, did you first have calcium deposits in the aorta before the aneurysm?? Before the CAD was diagnosed? Just curious how yours developed. (See my earlier post, 10th February). Would appreciate any input. Thanks, VMO.

Hi,

I had a heart attack and 5 way bypass eleven year ago when I was 49.

I had pain in my arm pit three year ago and that is when my VA doctor scheduled a sonic-gram and found the aneurysm.

She is watching the size every 6 months to keep a handle on it.

Actually, I'd have to wait and see what a VA decision actually said.

I believe that they are in fact related. But IHD as the VA sees it includes coronary arteries, and as I recall, an aortic aneurysm is not included.

If they rate it and compensate as if it is included, that gets into the argument about rating it distinct from an IHD rating for increased compensation vs. the VA reversing themselves as to SC'ing it.
