Ab8 Letter And Claim

Question

Hi I am new here and have a question...my claim completed 2 days ago. I filed an increase plus I filed temp 100% due to surgery..Have been out with surgery for 3 months now, My AB8 Letter states 100% combined evaluation and so does benefits explorer. Does the temporary 100% show on AB8 letter or just regular monthly disability. I don't know if this is permanent due to increase or my temp disability. I am waiting for my BBE to come in. It completed quickly.

I do know that my C&P doc said they would like to follow up in 6 months to a year to make sure it is better...this was a foot injury with 5 surgeries already to try to make it better

Any info about AB8 letter and benefits explorer would be appreciated

Hello All

I’ve never posted to this site, I have a question. Yesterday I Logged on to ebennies and notice my claim was complete.

Compensation

01/23/2014

I’m already receiving 30% for my knee. I’m also PDRL.

I filed a claim on Dec 12, 2012. The claim was closed on Jan 23, 2014.

Then I went into access my documents and it said I was awarded 80% combined.

Then I went into benefit letter and it said

This letter certifies that xxxx is receiving service-connected disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The current benefit paid is as follows:

Gross Benefit Amount

$1,525.55

Net Amount Paid

$1,233.48

Effective Date

December 1, 2013

Combined Evaluation

80 percent

I’m lost far as the gross amount and the net amount paid.

I thought VA payments are tax free? Why is there a deduction of $292.07?

I haven't received my brown envelope as of yet.

Thanks …..!

I believe the advice meghp0405 gave above applies to you as well...It's all speculation on our part until you see the paper copy of your claim decision. Hang in there!
