Nod Form 21-0958 And Call Option?

Rate this question

Question

There was a box on the standard NOD form that asked if I would ike to receive a telephone call or email from the RO which explained that they would attempt to call twice at the phone number provided. I checked the "yes" block and gave them all the contact information. Guess I'll be carrying around a copy of my NOD for a while. Also guessed it couldn't hurt to have someone call and acknowledge they're actually reading the form.

What can someone expect from this type of contact from the RO? Didn't see anything posted in the forums...

The VA has gone behind my lawyer's back often especially when I first hired him. It is wrong and a violation for them to do this. I know from experience that having more than one claim in at a time can confuse the VBA to the extent that they will or can completely get your claims mixed up.

Not much I can do about the confusion or amount of time, but there wasn't anything left that I felt I could do at this point anyway. I can either wait forever for something that won't happen or try to make something happen and still wait a long time. It's now on the RO to untangle and keep straight the file, the claim, and the appeal. Hopefully the newly implemented computer systems and computer files will make a difference.

I didn't know they did that because they were confused. I thought they did that on purpose to confuse the vet.

I agree with carlie on the email. I am not sure I would want them to contact me by phone and then write their version of what they think I said.

Free Spirit

The VA used a dental IME for a psychiatric claim I had and used the psychiatric IME for my dental claim. Both were denied as you might expect. I did find out how army dentist had put the screws to me. I had TMJ and the dentist never mentioned it in my exam even though I was seeing him for that problem. He was very careful not to mention any symptoms or a DX, but just wrote "EXAM" in my records. I had severe TMJ and he told me there was nothing he could medically do for me except to put a bolt in my neck like Frankenstein.
