Tdiu Denied - Reconsideration Meeting

Rate this question

thomasc

Question

So I was denied TDIU back in Oct. 2013, and my VSO (Dec. 2013) recommended a reconsideration and requested a meeting with the rater. Today(Feb.2014), I received a letter from the VA with a meeting scheduled for next week. My VSO said I don't need to bring anything and not to worry if they bring up incompetency, but I don't feel like being ambushed. I don't want to be caught off guard or give the VA any ammo to use against me.

So the Question is: Has anyone been through this? what was the outcome of your meeting? any other advise is appreciated, Thanks.

So I never made it to my reconsideration meeting, cuz VSO called and said "VA has agreed that I should be 100% T/P and will grant to the earliest effective date." I was looking for some answers at this meeting, but it sounds like the VA is going to do the right thing.

I am going to still work on sleep apnea and TBI, these were under appeal and won't equal anymore money but will protect my family incase I died from either of these, or lose my mind(TBI).

I am reading over this topic, and I am nervous/anxious. I filed TDIU in September. I had to secure some forms for my State job for medical retirement from my civ job. My VA doctors filled them out and stated "Severe limitation of functional capacity; Permenantly incapable of any kind of work; Totally and permanently disabled from gainful employment". Actually 3 different VA dr filled this form out. 2 MH and my primary care. "primary disabling condition is ptsd". I turned this in to my state employer and also filed for SSD. I was granted both. I filed for tdiu at the same time, and next week I have a C&P. I don't know what to expect as I don't feel that good. Can anyone give me an idea how bad this exam is going to be? The VA knows I was granted SSD, after I called them and told them. E benefits shows that they are waiting for a "benefit confirmation" I think that is SS??at least that is in the box that says"what we still need".It says the request went out on 31 january. I printed a letter of SSD verification to give the examiner. I called SS and asked if they sent VA anything on me and the man told me no. Does it take long for SS to send something to the VA?

Sorry didn't mean to hijack this thread. I can start a new one.

I filed TDIU April 2011, was deferred February 2012, finally denied October 2013, February 2014 reconsideration granted.

Its hard to say what will happen, I am still really confused by VA's procedures, as I had Doctors letter, SSDI, and PTSD inpatient.
