How To Help Us Cope

Question

I thought it might be fun to share our personal ways of coping with our common ailment.

For me: I like to go fishing by myself. No boat, no hassles, just sit and teach worms to swim.

I also have a 32 year old Honda M/C that I am slowly reviving. It now runs VERY nice and only needs paint and tires to finish-er off. I ride in all the local Charity Motorcycle rides right along side all the bada** Harleys and such. I don't do the after parties but, I ride alone and love it.

If you think this is a good idea, jump in and let's help each other out.

Amicus

Are you homeless?

I became homeless in 2009. Finally got into HudVash this year. They cover an unfurnished apt. I also get food from the State. I have to pay utilities out of my $250 a month. Doesn't leave anything for luxuries. When it's down to toilet paper and toothpaste or a Sealy Posturepedic and Levis the former wins out.

I have some land on the Lake, and a few Animals, pretty but only big enough for 3 or 4 guys.

My new wife is willing too do anything I want. Starting out, I wouldn't be able to handle more than one or 2 vets. But the goal would be too build cabins on the property too let vets come and spend time. Do what they can, have some fun. Then let other vets come have some fun. It doesn't mean they have to do anything over and above what they can do (no matter what that may be), just enjoy their time. Maybe after a few, they will move to the area and volunteer to help other vets. It would be nice to have an atmosphere where the DAV's would not have too fear they were being watched or evaluated and their compensation was not in jeopardy. I know I have days when I can do lots and days when I can't do squat, but worry that someone is watching when I can DO. A Free Atmosphere??
