I put in a FOIA request for my C-file back in March 2015.

I expected to get a box or large envelope of documents.

Instead this is what I received Friday.  The CD is PDF and searchable, which I like.

However, I am still missing service records from Desert Storm so maybe VA doesn't have them.

Can anyone tell me another route to get them?

Hey, that will be easier for searching records.

C-file is med records I believe.

You can get you service records online through eBenefits or myHealthyvet, not sure which one or both.

You can also get them from Army G1 website.  That is where I got mine.

That is where your record goes in the Army, not sure about Navy.

Good luck,

Hamslice

One of the problems veterans had with desert storm was that some of the units destroyed records rather than ship them back.

I really hope, 57d, that it didn't happen to you.

52D,

Request your Service Records through NARA here http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/

if you are still missing records, then I would start to contact old buddies see who has what from when, get notarized copies and if all else fails for anything you need comp related, I would obtain information relating to the destruction of your records and submit that along with sworn declarations from buddies to show 1) yes the records were destroyed, 2) X happened to you.
