Voc. Rehab & Educ Assistance

Question

I am currently employed as a federal law enforcement officer, retiring in a couple of months. When you reach age 57 you are mandated by law to retire.  With the SC conditions (I'm 70%), I have, I will not be able to acquire employment in the exact discipline I'm in. I currently earn six figures but upon retirement but my pension will be $50K . I have a BS in Voc. Educ, and I would like to work as a school counselor or teach.  I am new to this process, so can anyone share what's the best way to approach in terms of seeking approval with Voc Rehab & Employment so I can get a Master's Degree?  Do I even have a chance of getting approved? I have at least 10 years of "Work Energy" left.

Do not Pass Go, log onto your E-Ben Comp site, file an application for VA Vocational Rehab Today or even yesterday.

You'll get an appointment with a VRC, last time I did it 2016, took 3 weeks. Go in, meet with the VRC, do some VR testing if necessary, your on your way.

And always keep in mind, your usually one of the last people to truly realize how Fracked up you might be, between the ears. There's always the chance that at some point your SC's could get in the way of you earning an SGI level income, even doing sedentary work. That's what the IU Comp Program is all about.
