GAF Score

Question

How is it I've suffered a sTBI, dx of PTSD, and a dx of chronic adjustment disorder and have yet to see a GAF score? Everything always states suffered sTBI Glasgow score of 3 that's it.... I think if I had one it could help with increases yes or no?

Since the VA MH DX switch to the DSM V ( around 14 or 15), GAF's are no longer of any real consequence in MH Ratings. GAF's have never been a very reliable diagnostic tool, according to the Experts that write the DSM's.   The Pro's determined that any number of MH Clinicians seeing the same Vet at or around the same time period can arrive at widely disparate GAF Score.     Semper Fi

Gastone is correct- GAF score Varied- The new way is more accurate since it follows the "symptomatology" of the diagnosis. DSM-V is the new standard as he stated.
