It was kind of odd the way I found this award- which might help other survivors.
In a letter I thought would be in the mail by now, to Secretary Shulkin, I decided to use some additional evidence to support one part of my concerns.
I mentioned and will enclose my 1151 award letter, and gave info on another Vietnam vet the VA almost killed ( his 1151 award letter is here somewhere, and I wanted to find one more DIC award for a wrongful death. There are some at the BVA web site but the most recent one I found is above.
These awards are what I now call VA's "Area 1151s" and VA has hidden them from Congress and the public. So far......
I was shocked to realize that this was also a wrongful death from the same VAMC that killed my husband and almost killed a friend of ours-who gets 100% P & T under 1151 for the rest of his life, with SMC as well.
The award shows that the widow raised other issues regarding the death of her husband and I assume the attorney might be local to me, or to anyone else treated ( mistreated by the Bath VAMC). ( He is in Niagara Falls. not far from the Buffalo VARO)
He might even be willing to be a guest on our radio show. I just left a message for him.

Thirteen years is a long time to find proper restitution from the VA over a wrongful death.
But the case shows that- no matter what the issue is about-neither survivors nor living veterans should ever GIVE UP!
