2nd signature for records

Question

vets,

So getting things worked out with my misdiagnosis and now getting my correct ratings issued. I do expect a benefits severance as my misdiagnosis was for presumptive ALS but I now know I don’t have it (which is amazing).

My claim was at pending decision approval the other day now it’s back at GOE. I called the 800# and I was told I needed a 2nd signature for med records.

Any idea what that means?

Did you submit medical evidence from a non-VA provider? If that is the case, the VA will need a separate Release of Medical Information form in order to request copies of the records.

That very well could be it. The VA opens the claim based on the evidence you provided, but needs to verify it from the original physician. Once they get it, they should be able to proceed.

When I submit non-VA evidence, I always proactively send in a signed release of information form. This saves time.
