  2. excellent berta i've created a page on the main site for this information now you can just refer folks to this link http://www.hadit.com/ptsd_stressors.html
  3. i heard they were doing that because some veterans were selling their pain meds on the street. i've heard they've even had problems with some veterans getting free bus passes and selling them. ugh, some screw it up for all. from what i've heard and remember this is all scuttlebutt that if you are on pain meds they do test to see if you are taking them. i don't know if they are doing drug tests every time they do labs, i had a ton of blood tests run the other day the doc didn't say anything about a drug test, but i'm not on any pain medicine.

  6. Please Do NOT post any personal identifying information on the forum. This is for your protection, make sure if you post anything or attach a file that none of your personal information is visible. The internet is a wide open place and we don't want anyone to use your information in a nefarious way. Thanks
  7. haven't offended me, i'm only 52 but i can tell, i'm getting cranky, and have to constantly work on having patience. of course i live alone with my dog, so mostly i am just cranky with myself, a little cranky to the dog, but then she justs gives me an adoring look and all is forgiven. she kisses me and we go on. the website work can be very consuming for me, my focus is not as good as it once was and i have to shut everyone out for several hours a day to get anything done, no phone calls or chats and then by the time i finish working i'm just brain dead and not much up for phone calls. i've been in this mode for a few months where i work on the site and sleep and that's about it i have to work harder on taking care of myself, i'm not very good at that. even a post with supportive words are a great help to many of us here.
  8. i am big fan google also, you may want to take a look at our search page http://www.hadit.com/search.html it has information on how to get the results you want search tips.
  9. i'm not sure what could be causing this, perhaps another geek will chime in.

  11. wowie wowie this is great news do something nice for you and the boss, take it easy on yourself it can be a bit overhwelming. congratulations very happy for you.
  12. you may want to grab a cup of coffee and go through this slowly i think it will make your expereience here more productive and pleasant. Please post your questions about any of these features in the members forums Some Features for you to check out New and less known Features Social Networking Social networking is the hottest thing on the internet - but it's more than just a buzzword, it's also an important concept. User networking creates relationships. User profiles now display an overview of a users activity on the board and add comments to each others profiles. Friends Lists Your users can add other users to their Friends lists, enabling them to easily track what their friends are doing on the board. Of course, user privacy is paramount, so users have the option of approving friends and comments in their profile before they are shown, and can delete comments people have made on them at any time. Community Calendar User birthdays are also displayed, providing a user has chosen to enter their date of birth. Other Relevant Features * Support for AIM, MSN, Yahoo! and ICQ screen-names * Built-in user-to-user email system, without divulging addresses * Complete private messaging system between users Posting Posting is an essential aspect of any bulletin board system, being the primary method by which users interact within the community. It's therefore important that the tools provided for posting are powerful, comprehensive and yet simple to use. We've worked hard to ensure all three of these criteria are satisfied in IP.Board. Attachment Manager Users can attach as many files as necessary (within your specified limits) to their posts, but now they need not wait for the file to transfer to continue writing a post. (Please try to keep these attachments small to save space) Rich-text Editor (Updated) While BBCode provides an easy way of formatting posts, for many users it's no substitute for seeing the formatting as you type - like you would in a word processor. IP.Board features an advanced, yet easy-to-use Rich-text Editor that does just that, for users that use a modern browser. BBCodes BBCodes are a simple way of stylizing posts by adding formatting such as font colors and sizes. IP.Board has many BBCodes defined out of the box for common formatting options, but also gives you the option of creating custom BBCodes that users can utilize in posts. Setting them up is a cinch, and can save time and effort for your users. Emoticons Emoticons are small graphics used on the Internet to infer a real-life emotion felt by the poster. IP.Board includes a multitude of high-quality emoticons out of the box, but you can also use the built-in emoticon manager to add as many other emoticons as you wish. It only takes a single click for users to insert emoticons into their posts! Other Relevant Features * Inline post editor * Advanced poll system allowing multiple polls with multiple answers * Automatic thumbnails created for uploaded images Three Forum Views There are three types of forum view in IP.Board, with something to suit all users. The default 'linear' view displays replies one after the other - the norm for modern bulletin board systems. A traditional threaded (or 'outline') view is available for those that prefer the view that forums of the past offered, and for those that desire more, 'linear+' offers the best of both linear and threaded views. Lo-Fi Display IP.Board includes a 'lo-fi' display option, which presents your forum content in a barebones, no-frills format. This option is great for users if they are accessing your board via a non-traditional device, such as a cellphone or PDA, or if they simply want a stripped-down version of your content with the minimum of fuss.
  13. i ran into an old friend , also a vietnam vet, who works for ss. he too is 50%ptsd as i am. i told him of my nod for 10 more for tinnitiss. he asked for my ss # and c-file #, i hope thats okay. he said he'd check to see where i'm at in process. i'm trying to get tdiu, based on my problems concentrating on job because of ptsd i've hurt myself 3 times over past 2 years and afraid i may hurt others. i'm off work at present due to last injury. self employed. so i'm asking what if any order do you file for these different things. does it hurt to have ss look into your c-file? it felt good to have someone to talk to that understood my problems and he was the only other person i opened up to in40 years, other than a hour with my c&p examer. my son is due home from iraq for 3rd time in june so plase keep him in your prayers, and i hope he never has to deal with hadit if you know what i mean. thank you for all your help. 19. http://www.iava.org/tellthemedia Dear Friend, I just signed IAVA's open letter to the major news networks. As we mark the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq, you might not be seeing much about it on TV. In February 2008, only 3% of the news was dedicated to Iraq. I think that we need to keep the soldiers who are fighting and those who are facing battles when they get home in the public eye. Make sure the media keeps Iraq and veterans in the news and sign the open letter at http://www.iava.org/tellthemedia. Thanks! 20. there are tricks to searching for example Searching with the following keywords can help narrow the search down (try the seaches below here) cue (Returns any page that has cue in it) cue +ptsd (Returns only pages that contain cue and ptsd) cue +smc (Returns only pages that contain cue and smc) cue +smc -ptsd (Returns pages that contain cue and smc but NOT ptsd) cue -/forums/ (Returns all pages that contain cue but not if they are in the forum, this would allow you to easily see what content is available on the main site.
