  2. jo ann - ptsd is very hard to prove and ptsd because of mst is even harder, if the report never got recorded it makes it very tough, wings has a lot of good suggestions for you. i also did a search on hadit.com for other posts about mst and you browse through it here mst this is the dilemma for many mst veterans both men and women who either reported and the report went to the perpetrator or no report was filed. the va claim is harder to prove than say social security, va needs the connection and then requires proof that it happened. i know that folks will chime on idea's to prove your claim. i know men and women who have walked this road and were successful in finding supporting evidence, but it was tough. if you don't have a therapist who you can talk to i encourage you to try and get one either from the va or your local veterans center, going through the claims process can cause all kinds of triggers and it is good to have a professional to talk with. tbird ps i added possible trigger to your subject, so that other mst veterans know before they read your posts, sometimes reading through someone else's trauma can trigger someone else's ptsd.
  3. here is a link to a hadit.com search for PTSD you may want to just browse through it and see if any of it helps. PTSD
  4. welcome aboard iraq2, i know the frustration and the anger you feel about the va that is after all what got me to start this site some 11 years ago. if you are not see a therapist get one, try the local veterans center, i like going there better than going to the va hospital. if you need to get into any other support groups aa, na, ga whatever get to the meeting. you can get through this even if it's just 15 minutes at a time, lots of us been there, find an outlet for your anger, personally i broke a lot of phones, used a baseball bat on sturdy work table and screaming at the top of my lungs while driving, let it out, move on to the next 15 minutes, try to use your military training your mission is to get the all the compensation you are entitled to, and stay mission focused as much as possible. brother it's a hard road to walk, but it is not impossible and you are not alone. welcome home tbird

  6. yeah i was ranting about this yesterday to my nephew, poor guy gave me a ride to the va, and he said something about the hearings and i just went off, not at him. it just ticks me off.

  15. can i get a volunteer who can read over the attached document for accuracy? The subject is Eligibility and Entitlement it's not near done, but some input now would be good. Track_1_No_Claim_Filed.rtf
  16. the first year or so of my claim i had to start buying really cheap phones, because i would get so frustrated i would slam them down and break them and throw them against the wall, i have since learned to manage my anger better. they can really yank your chain and sometimes i think they even enjoy it, but i couldn't prove it.
  17. please tone down the personal insults, it will encourage others to use personal insults and it will degenerate into a flame, there is no need to insult the others appearance, parentage, etc. if you hate them, just say i hate them - tbird
  18. thanks for the heads up i put a blurb and a link to the story at the top of homepage http://www.hadit.com i also put a link to the audio of the story. here is what i put Army Blocks Disability Paperwork Aid at Fort Drum Source: NPR Morning Edition, January 29, 2008 · Army officials in upstate New York instructed representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs not to help disabled soldiers at Fort Drum Army base with their military disability paperwork last year. That paperwork can be crucial because it helps determine whether soldiers will get annual disability payments and health care after they're discharged. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  19. i have to tell you i had no idea this was going to be such a huge topic, the member requested i delete his post as stated in a previous post and i did just that and nothing more i made no judgement call, i have no expereince with the guy. this was totally his decison and not mine. it seemed like such a simple request, please delete my post, ok and then all this discussion about censorship and so on. i am just a bit amazed. my priority is to help veterans. it really is up to VetDr whether he chooses to post again or not. 12 crank calls would scare most people off. as i think it was berta said, we have a large membership, but an even larger amount of guests who read claims research and never sign up. so it's really hard to say who might have made those calls, but we do get some very odd folks from time to time and i always recommend never posting personal information on the net anywhere. i never have heard from him again. tbird
