  1. Buck52 If you are taking Flomax that will cause the reduction in seman. Nlaulam82 Your PCP should be referring you to an Endocrinolgist because they are the ones who should be treating you for low T. Also, if you are taking other meds they may be a contributing factor to your symptoms. That is what an endo doc can determine.
  2. I just saw an indocrinologist about low T and he told me I had 2 things against taking it. A-fib and prostate cancer. He said the A-fib is probably worse than the prostate cancer as the T treatments cause your blood to clot and it could cause a stroke. I have the same problems as nlaulam82 no energy, depression, no sex drive, can fall asleep almost instantly, loss of body hair. They did take off 2 meds I've been taking for the PC finisatride and megastrol so we'll see how that works.
  3. A lot of the VA doc's don't want to fill them out. The VA started these forms but yet the doc's don't want to help. I would email Ms Hickey and ask her if she can help to get the doc to fill it out. I use outside doc's to fill them out and have only had one that refused so I don't use him anymore.
  4. Coastie I was part of a study the VA did on tinnitus and it lasted about 9 months. All of the questions you posted were a part of the study. I spoke with a VA audiologist and a physc doc. They do have some good ideas about how to keep the ringing from bothering you. Mine is extremely loud but I have lived with it for over 40 years. When they gave me HA's they said that should help quieten the tinnitus it did but only a little bit. You will never get more than 10% for it. You can get depression Sc'd as secondary to the tinnitus.
  5. There is no way to tell you if you will be rated for HL without a copy of your hearing test. You can get a copy of it at the FOIA office at the VA hospital. You will probably get 10% for tinnitus.
  6. Looking for anyone who has had loss of sphincter control due to radiation treatment of prostate cancer. Would like to know how the VA rated you.
  7. 10% is all you will get. It is for bilateral tinnitus the VA does not give any more for it.
  8. How do you find copies of C & P exams on E-benefits?
  9. Check link to VAIG's report http://www.va.gov/oig/publications/report-summary.asp?id=3256
  10. check link; http://www.military.com/military-report/va-releases-2015-compensation-rates?ESRC=miltrep.nl
  11. Usmc If you have to file, go chapter 7 not 13. I filed 13 5 years ago and paid it off on time and I still don't have my discharge papers. Also, since you are 100% P & T have you talked to the Social Security people about SSDI that may give you more money. Britton I don't what state you live in but some states have a time limit on debt collections. I know Florida is 20 years.
  12. Snake I agree with Gastone. The key here is a 0% for HL because your hearing is only going to get worse as you get older. Plus, you get free hearing aids.
  13. I have been calling the 202 # now for 3 weeks and leaving voice mails to return my call as requested on there message. I have not gotten any call backs at all. Anybody know of way to get thru to these people. I want my retro that the VA is sitting on since May of 2013.
  14. I don't think this is likely to happen. The back lash for any politician that brings this up would be political suicide. But, it pays to be forewarned so you can be fore armed.
  15. According to the calculator I have it is 50%. As far as the TDIU I thought if you were rated 40% for one thing and a total of 60% you could apply for TDIU. I may be wrong.
  16. You better read this article. http://militaryadvantage.military.com/2014/08/cbo-why-va-claims-exploded-and-ways-to-slow-the-trend/
  17. Hollis Do stay on top of the prostate. My PSA was 2.8 and it had risen from a 1.5 to 2.3 to 2.8 in about 7 months. I kind of insisted that the Doc. do a biopsy and he did and I had cancer in half of my prostate and it was aggressive. If I had waited for another year who knows what would have happened. Oh! this was a private doc not a VA doc. I went thru 43 radiation treatments and hormone therapy. My last PSA was .1. Remember it is your body not theirs.
  18. When you apply for HL you will be given a C & P exam by an audiologist. The results of that test will determine your level of hearing loss. It is extremely difficult to be granted above 0%. I recommend that you read and understand the following CFR concerning how the VA rates HL before you take the test. http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?rgn=div5&node=38:1.0.1.1.5#se38.1.4_185
  19. Well you know how the VA is, they are so efficient in how they do things. But, the good thing is you will get the increase and go to 100%
  20. Greekgod Once you rated over 50% you receive both your retirement and VA disability. If you rating includes any injuries received while on active duty if you were training for combat or were actually in combat then you can receive CRSC which is non taxable. Your retirement will be called CRDP once you hit that magic 50% mark. CRDP is taxable.
  21. My advice is file for SSDI as soon as you get the BBE and then quit work and enjoy yourselves.
  22. Any hearing test done outside of the VA must be done to VA standards or they will not accept the test. All you have to do is ask the people performing the test if they can do it to VA standards.
  23. Check the link, very good article. http://www.military.com/daily-news/2014/07/15/va-cites-progress-on-backlog-congress-disagrees.html?ESRC=eb.nl
  24. If you are service connected and you go the VA for a service connected condition you can get travel pay. I believe if you are over 50% SC'd you get travel pay anytime you have an appt with the VA. I know I have been getting it.
