  1. 70% PTSD 10% Tinnitus All others defered Back to 2010
  2. No deposit yet but did get the big brown envelope !!!! MAN what a blessing! I hope that means the lump deposit is coming soon !
  3. Its True Its True!!! for GA anyway LOL. IDK about other states, I guess all you can do is check with your state's department of VA website or call and ask. It is nice to have someone at the VARO instead of the call center.
  4. LOL my wife is blonde she didnt tell me they had the digits posted or else I wouldve forwarded that info, now that I read the fine print I see that.
  5. Yeah, they are employed by GA SDVS but work at the ATL VARO. Im sure your claim guy can give you a definitive. If he is away make sure you ask if there is anyone handling his case load meanwhile and maybe that person can answer your questions. Heres the link to the points of contact When you find out who your counselor is you can find his email here: http://sdvs.georgia.gov/portal/site/SDVS/menuitem.2f54fa407984c51e93f35eead03036a0/?vgnextoid=a8c0f0d1ca7f7210VgnVCM100000bf01020aRCRD
  6. Hey youre in GA, we have claims counselors assigned by case # who know more since they are located at the VARO in ATL. Call (404) 929-5345 you will get a receptionist. Tell her you want to contact your claims counselor but you are unsure of who it is. She will tell you then forward you to him. Be aware there a e few, including mine, on vacation at the moment so IDK if youll find anything out by christmas but thats a start.
  7. P.S. I was diagnosed with PTSD by the VA in OCT09 less than 1 month after my official discharge.
  8. Havent recieved the official letter yet but yes 70% PTSD. I dont do group. No offense I just cant handle that. My sig other/ live in fiancee did come to one session (VA gave me a pvt QTC therapist I see every 2 weeks) and it wasnt very productive. She isnt too keen on my therapist who she feels is a little too placative to my sometimes dominant nature. I didnt know if I qualified for even a discount or something for a family therapist not just the ptsd.
  9. The closest is Lawrenceville, I didnt quite get along witht he therapist there so they kicked me back to ATL with the statement previously provided. ATL refered me to Pvt. So I need to start with them again at Lville? Thats going to be interesting. TY
  10. I read the VA offers family therapy. My PTSD therapist said we can only discuss the war and my ptsd issues. How do I access Family therapy so we can work on some of the issues my scd's have caused at home with my family? I see a private PTSD spec therapist because VA determined they "lacked the resources to handle my level of treatment at their facilities". Not to mentioned the closest med center is 1 hr. away and the VA clinic locally doesnt offer mental healthcare.
  11. By "that far" I mean should it go back to SEPT09 since thats when I was discharged or by "within a year of discharge" they mean active only not discharge from service so I only go back to FEB10 since I filed JAN10?
  12. no 1,350 total per month so 13,500 retro to FEB10 right? I was fully honorably discharged in SEPT09 (completed 2nd contract) which was within a yr. from my file date. I was invol. recalled for 9 month and held back from 3rd deployment due to severe complications with my sons birth in OCT08. Will it go back that far since I was in IRR from OCT08 till discharge in SEPT09.
  13. Ok here is exactly what rep said if that helps, ".....xxxxxxxxxxxxx is in the final stages of the approval process at the VA Regional Office in xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I have been informed that we should have a decision by the end of the month in Mr. xxxxxxxxxxxxx's favor. This approval will be back dated to Feb 2010." According to my claims counselor at the VARO I have a rating of 70%-PTSD 10%-Gastrointestinal and others 0%-deffered he signed off on it on Friday AM which I assume meant all the necessary signatures were on it and he was just notified. "Because federal checks are paid at the end of the month, the soonest he will receive any monthly payment is Feb 1, 2011. The retroactive check normally is paid a month or two later." Thats whats confusing everyone is telling me retro comes around the time of the letter but she is saying something different.
