  1. Good day, Does anyone have quick access to the Secondary Conditions to Type II Diabetes they can post? I have an appt with my PCM for my feet but wanted the complete list to confirm my condition. V/r Dave
  2. Good day, Bit of a background.....I retired from the AF last September. I was awarded 80% with sleep apnea, hypertension, and a slew of other ailments. I was recently diagnosed with Type II diabetes and filed a claim. I am still within my 1 year window of retiremnt. I just checked the EBenefits website to check the status and it says my attention is needed and the following comments: We need evidence showing that the following condition(s) existed from military service to the presen...t time: extreme burning and numbness in bilateral fee, diabetes mellitus type II 7/6/20118/6/2011Please submit medical evidence on your current disability as well a...s evidence showing a connection between your disability and your service connected condition. We will consider service connection for your as secondary to your service connected condition. Note: Temporary or intermittent flare ups of a condition are not considered aggravation, unless the underlying condition, as contrasted by symptoms, has gotten worse. Any idea what I should do at this point? Thanks, Dave
  3. Thank you so much. This form is exactly what I was looking for. I currently live in So Cal and believe my servicing VA is in Utah. Is that where I send the form? Do you know of an address I need to mail this? Thanks, Dave
  4. Good day, I retired from the AF last September and was awarded 80%. However, due to other complications I have also developed Type II diabetes since my retirement and am now on medication. I am still within a year of my retirement so I think that helps my case. My question is this, what is the best way to get started on this claim? Everything was easy to do when I was active duty, but not sure where to start now. Thanks in advance, Dave
  5. Well, I finally received my rating of 80% (very happy)!!! However, my backpay doesn't add up, but my question is this. Will the disability pay show up on my RAS? If not, will I receive a separate monthly statement? Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. V/r Dave
  6. On Ebenifits.gov, it states my case was closed yesterday, 3 Jan 2011. How long afterwards should I expect something in the mail or a direct deposit on my claim? I retired in Sep, 2010 and that is when my case was opened. Thanks, Dave
  7. Thanks for the replies. Yes, I completed my C&P exam months ago and the VA claims they have everything they need. It seems they are just sitting on it but I would hate to think that is the case. I assume they are just backed up or on minimal manning for the holidays.
  8. First time poster. I am recently retired from the AF and filed my claim as of 1 September 10 for Sleep Apnea, hypertension, shoulders, knees, etc. The VA claims all data was received by 30 September and nothing else is need from me. They are still in the decision phase and I asked customer service how long that normally takes. She indicated 16-28 days. However, mine has been over 2 months now. Any idea why it would take so long? I understand it is first come first serve but for my claim to be this far past the average time length is puzzling to me. Thanks for any insight any of you may provide. Dave
