  1. Its not the IHD I was tring to associate with his depression but the Agent Orange and if there may have been a link with his issue. It seems we just keep finding more problems that leads us back to AO and who knows what our kids may have to deal with as they get older. Its like a ticking time bomb that just keeps on giving. Thanks for your feedback everyone
  2. Thanks everyone. I thought it was fair but wasn't sure and didn't want to push for a higher rating if the group felt the same. I'm just thankful I'm still able to cope and just keep working on maintaining my issues for my grandkids. They keep me focused. Thanks again!!
  3. I am still working and my GAF score was 60
  4. I received my rating for PTSD at 50% which my be correct but I still have a lingering question about the % due to the statement from my C&P report the I was at a moderate to severe level. Should I let it stand or file to be reconsidered. Thanks
  5. I would like to know if anyone knows of information linking my AO exposure and my 32 year old sons bouts with depression. I am service connected with IHD due to AO and would like to know if there may be a link here and if any assistance for him could be available. Thanks for your help
  6. Sorry for the slow responce John but I am still working so no SSD and I'll be 64 this June and looking forward to my retirement in AZ in the next couple years. Take care. Joe
  7. Sorry for the slow responce but I own my own business and it takes up the majority of my time. I did file back in Sept 2010 through the Veterans Commission in Joliet Illinois so were on about the same time schedule. After reading some of the post I wasn't expecting much more than 30% so I guess you have to just wait and see what happens.Best of luck to ya
  8. Well I got the letter yesterday with some good news. 50% rating for PTSD which surprised me but I'll take it. Also got 12k in retro pay. Overall rating is now at 80%.
  9. Thanks I'll look into the VTS and check with a cardiologist outside the VA system to see if I should move forward. If its not connected I'm ok with that but if it is I'm willing to file again.
  10. Thanks for the feedback I picked up my C&P file from the VA today and the nurse who conducted the interview wrote that my vericose veins were not related to my CAD. Not surprised! I guess I could get an opion from an outside source just to be sure that its not connected. I just found it strange that it happened after i received my stent and started taking the meds on a daily basis.
  11. Thanks for the followup. The part that i dont understand is that she has me at moderate to severe for PTSD with a good amount of infromation on the two stressors and how they affected the last 40 years of my life as well as my family. So the GAF of 60 seems a bit high but certainly in the middle of the Gaf rating schedule.I guess its in the hands of the VA right now and whoever reviews the information and sets the percentage. Thanks again!
  12. Just picked up my C&P paperwork today and read through it and my evaluation was for a PCL-M score of 74 (moderate to severe ptsd) and a GAF score of 60. I think that this will be the main focus in making the decision and rating but am curious if anyone has an idea on what this might end up as a percent rating? Thanks for your help
  13. Thanks for your response. I was just thinking that it wasn't untill just after my heart issue (stent in 99) that I began to notice the vein in my left leg starting to swell and I thought it my be connected. My VSO said I should open a claim for it as a secondary . Thanks again
  14. Just received my rating of 30% for CAD associated with AO and was told that my 'vericose veins' could be a secondary claim. Has anyone found this to be the case and if so where can I find info the link the two together?
